I agree with m0ney, get the 840 Pro model, go for the 850 models or find a good alternative.

After all, the top end are so close that you won't find any difference between them.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Yeah, 840 is bit old, though it's pretty decent SSD (have one myself). I don't like EVGA much and would always go for Gigabyte G1 970 due to great thermals:

I changed the SSD and 970.  I've been looking at which 970 is best for oc'ing, and I think its MSI.

MSI is fair choice, though it runs 8 degrees hotter than G1, even though it's clocked slightly less than G1:

As for OC, at least according to Guru3D, G1 overclocks better, but differences are really small either way.

BTW, nice choice of case, I have FD R4 and they are very quite indeed, paired with SeaSonic PSU (I generally try to go with either them or Antec for PSU).
