Forums - Politics Discussion - Would you hire a transgender if you were the boss of a store?

If they are capable of the job then yes

What's sad is if you posted this in a different thread where no one knew what it might be about people would talk about how "hott" and "beautiful" she was... (which she is) Then if you were to point out (s)he's a transgender or anything other than a 100% 'female' people automatically get homophobic and start saying how "gross" she is. You have to be a pretty shitty person to have this mindset.

Wait, you can be accepting of trans-culture but not necessarily find trans attractive for that reason. People still have their right to have preferences. Assuming we were rating the hotness of women, if knowing they are trans makes them less attractive to you, even by a factor of 100, that's your prerogative

touche. I see what you are saying. I'm just pointing out the fact that some people will say "oh yea he/she is very pretty" but then they find out they are trans and they say "OMg that's gross, they are disgusting!!!!" .... No one is asking you to have sex with this person just pointing out if they are a good looking human being or not. Sexual orientation of a person doesn't decide if they are beautiful or not. If a person finds out they are trans, then disregards the fact that they are "pretty" even by their own admission, then calls them gross and disgusting after finding out they are trans. Yea, that makes them a pretty shitty person. They have a right to be grossed out and not attracted to that. I know I'm not at all. But you can still appreciate someone for being beautiful in their own skin and not have to be bigot.

What the heck is a boss of a store? This must be a super small business. If you mean like a general manager at a fast food spot or a convenience store, than I would just need to know if the person has experience and a good reference.

The problem is that it's not their own skin. That's what makes it unattractive.

So long as they're qualified.

I wouldn't really care. One person isn't gonna make the store go out of business. Even with complaints. It would blow up in their face, if it got too big, to get on the news. Everyone would start harassing the harassers.

It doesn't need to be harassment. People will often simply stop going to a business that for whatever reason makes them uncomfortable.

It still has to affect the store in such a large way. But than the store can't directly blame or say anything to make them look bad too. Someone has to set an example of progress. And that could happen over any other reason honestly too, while said person is working there. Damned if you do damned if you don't.

Ummm.. A person can be whoever the hell they want to be. It's their life. So yea, it kinda is their own skin.
