Forums - Gaming Discussion - How Have Video Games Affected Your Dreams?

I have a lucid dreaming one time

It was about me and Sonic, we have an adventure through Kingdom Hearts's world together

And I could control where we would go

It was really weird

I pretty much never have game-related dreams, if ever. It's a little lame, actually. Though I do sometimes have dreams where I'm getting tons of Pokemon/Magic cards.

When I was binging FFVII in the sixth grade, all of my dreams for two nights had text boxes instead of auditory conversation. No joke!

I've had a dream where I was in my minecraft village. I was still building the house I fell asleep building, but in my dreams!!

I once had a dream that I could perform an Ether Strike.

Tetris and Candy Crush used to. There was actually a term called "Tetris fever" in the 80s.

Definitely, when it came to games like Metroid Fusion and other things. I still remember the most epic and scary dream I had where the SA-X was chasing after me and my brother ._.

I had a dream where I got a PS4 because I had already owned one (but I didn't in this dream :P). And then I realized you could play XB1 games on it, and I was happy :D. Then I woke up, and thought "What the hell was that?".

I remember that. I played so much Tetris the blocks kept falling after I closed my eyes. The game continued in my head.

Annoying game mechanism sometimes make it into my dreams where I have to finish a series of repetitive tasks before I can move on to something else. The grind goes on while I sleep :/ I never get nightmares though, dunno if that has to do with games. I always know I can't really die or get hurt or drown, it's all a game. Jump off a building, walk on the bottom of a lake, chase or get chased at high speed.

One way gaming really affects my dreams is not dreaming at all, as I play games too late and don't leave enough time to get to the REM stage of sleep.
