Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Phil Spencer: new exclusive IP at E3, 1st party focused

I feel like in terms of exclusive content, 2015 will be Microsoft's year much like 2014 was Nintendo's year (and 2013 was Sony's year, etc.)

i think they will have a bad e3 again

its because they didn't invest in new ip's a long time ago

its a little too late and every e3,they have the same thing over and over gain.a new forza and a new halo.

ms,please invest a little more time into content development

Halo, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Scalebound, Fable among others. Not saying Sony and Ninty don't have anything of note (personally I'm more interested in the Wii U's lineup) but I won't deny that the XBO has the most heavy hitters this year.

If Sony and Nintendo still had Uncharted and Zelda this year, I would think differently.

Sounds great, especially if sub £200 XB ONE is a reality this year!

I loved the 360 for the first 3 years. Then they ruined it by relying entirely on 3rd party and "casual?" titles in the twilight years.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Rise of the tomb raider is temporary exclusive, fable is coming to pc, scalebound is coming out next year. Sony and nintendo have had and will have more exclusives this year.

Just like you, Nintendo appeals more to me.

I hope they bring Banjo back to his true roots.

I mean when was the last time MS had a new IP of their own that was of the caliber of Last of Us and Xenoblade Chronicles? Or even of Codename S.T.E.A.M

Ori and the Blind Forest.  I may be remembering wrong but that was about a month ago.

On the contrary MSFT has been investing in new IP this generation like Sunset Overdrive, Ryse, Quantum Break, Project Spark, Scalebound, etc  WHile also trying to bring back old IP like Killer Instinct, Battletoads, and Phantom Dust.  Then you have their well established IP like Forza, Halo, Gears, Fable to go along with titles such as State of Decay, Crackdown, Zoo Tycoon, Max, etc

Theyve actually been doing pretty good this generation regardless of downplay.

And for the record neither MSFT or Nintendo has a developer on the calibre of Naughty Dog.

Nintendo does: Retro Studios, Zelda Team and the 3D Mario team. And now I have to include the MK8 team, the detail those guys put into their tracks is amazing.

I've played most ND games and while they're good, I don't think they're better than any of the games made by those Nintendo teams.
