Will Animal Crossing U outsell Zelda U?

Of course it will 51 48.11%

Nah bruh, you crazy 55 51.89%

Total:106

You may think that is crazy, Zelda is MUCH more popular than Animal Crossing...

Or is it?

Lets look at some facts, shall we?

AC: New Leaf outsold Ocarina of Time 3D, A Link Between Worlds, and Majora's Mask 3D COMBINED

New Leaf Sales:7.6 million

All Zelda 3DS game sales: 6.8 million

It doesn't stop there

AC: Wild World outsold Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks combined by a wide margin

Wild World sales: 12 million

PH and ST combined sales: 8.3 million

However, Twilight Princess on Wii outsold City Folk by wide margin, with TP selling over 7 million copies and CF only selling about 4.6 million. Twilight Princess did have the advantage of being a launch title though.

Now, on the Gamecube side of things...

Wind Waker outsold the original Animal Crossing by quite a bit (WW sales: 4.6 million, AC sales: 3.15 million)

HOWEVER, Animal Crossing on GC outsold both Four Swords Adventure and the GC version of Twilight Princess (Four Swords Adventure: .80 mllion, TP: 1.6 million)

But what says you?

3ds AC = higher install base + AC is a perfect fit for a handheld so imo, console zelda > console AC

AC appeals to handheld users. Zelda appeals to home console users. AC > Zelda, but not 100% of the time. I'll say no.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I don't think so. Console Zeldas always sell more than console Animal Crossings. Also, Western Zelda sales > Japanese AC (console) sales. Both will do extremely well, but Zelda will end up being one of the best selling games for the system.

Animal Crossing on handhelds sell like crazy... but not as much for home console.

Twilight Princess (GC) was overshadowed by the Wii version and Four Swords was not as well received as most Zelda games

It'll sell well, but I don't think it will beat Zelda U

no

No, Animal Crossing sells better on handhelds and Zelda sells better on consoles, that's where the mayority of their fanbase is.

I mean by this logic a console Monster Hunter would outsell a console Zelda seeing how MH on portable sell more than Zelda on portable, or that Resident Evil on handhelds would outsell Kirby on handhelds seeing how Resident Evil sells better on consoles.

Come on.

I think AC appeals more on handhelds than it does on consoles, so no, I doubt AC Wii U will outsell Zelda.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

The U has a good social aspect to it that AC could benefit from heavily but I don't see it outselling Zelda U as on consoles the ball park is different, the difference between Zelda and AC on console is far more significant then on handhelds. TP sold 7m or so on the Wii compared to City Folks 4.6m, TP on the GC was hard to even find so most people bought it for Wii as the latter was dead cheap to purchase.

TPs total sales at (8.6m) are more then City Folk and AC on the GC combined (7.76m), that shows how different things are on consoles.

Not in home consoles, but it will be a big success anyway.
