PS4 25k the week before Dragon Quest! PS3 still neck and neck with wiiU so it should beat it next week.

Yep, impressive figures for PS4, 4 times as much as WiiU. Next week will be crazy.

Did not expect Zelda to hold in Japan. Maybe it's not as dead there as I thought.

Its a remake of a Zelda game that came out when Zelda was more popular there.

If a brand new Zelda where to put these numbers...

I can't believe people still cherry picking trackers just because Vita lol

MC > Famitsu. Just accept.

Also great numbers for PS4. Deserved

Glad to hear that because the numbers that interest me are ps4, ps3, wii u and Xbox One.  And media create always favours sony in those battles compared to Famitsu not

One of those 2k DOA5 games for Xbox One is mine :)

Edit: If they sold 2000 total, I wonder how many they sold of the $100 limited edition or the $220 super special edition for Xbox One (or PS4 for that matter)

These numbers are getting more fun every week. Next week should be awesome.

Sadly it will be a bit less fun after next week. Still fun though, just not as fun

Why? PS4 1st sounds like fun. Unless they're releasing a new remaster/sequel on 3DS.

PS4 1st is indeed fun, but it won't be as fun when it only outsells the Wii U 2.5 to 1.

Maybe next week it's 10:1 who knows :)

PS4 to pass wiiu in japan this year

I assume you're joking.

God Eater did a good job for Vita and PS4. I suppose the fanbase for God Eater is on handhelds, but it will be interesting to see if the PS4 version has legs and builds up to reasonable numbers.

Not sure what I was expecting from the Order in Japan. If I had guessed before this week I probably would have said <40K, which doesn;t necessarily mean I woulkd have thought >30K but I would have just wanted to give myself a relatively wide sales band. So I suppose it did OK first week, but that's all. Though it is the highest selling new release for the week other than God Eater, so there is that. It probably won't have legs.

It DoA pretty much a has been franchise now?

Well the rereleased it like 3 times already so not a surprise it did poorly.

i guess this japan sales thread using Famitsu for hardware so i am agree with kresnik and if people do not agree they can post Media Create sales for hardware on the forum.

there is no need to argue MC> Famitsu or Famitsu > MC.

Wow. The XBO actually went back above 1000 units. Special edition consoles and bundles do help in Japan. Probably won't last, though, because such boosts never do. I wonder how long it'll take before it drops below 200 again.

The PS4 is doing pretty good considering the state of the Japanese market. The week ending the 1st should be even better as they're getting a Dragon Quest-themed Musou game and a special edition Metal Slime console. Japan loves DQ, Musou games, and special edition consoles, so we could easily see PS4 capture the top spot. The PS4 should really hit its stride once the first price cut comes in and the big Japanese titles like MSGV and FFXV come out.

The 3DS is still holding on nicely. It's barely down YoY. Now to see if there's any major software releases that could help boost it.

The Wii U is definitely past its peak in Japan. The Wii also peaked earlier in Japan than it did in the U.S. & Europe, so maybe we should have expected this.

But isn't barely down actually not very good, since it got a hardware refresh late last year? You would expect at least 1 full year of YoY increase with a major hardware refresh, even if only modest the increase should be there. There should be a sizeable market of people who haven't yet bought a 3DS, and quite a few current 3DS owners who upgrade to the new model.

Link Between Worlds did better than Skyward Sword there. And it may be a remake, but it already has almost half the original's sales in 2 weeks, while OOT 3D has been out for 3+ years and has about 40% of its original. But yeah, it would be nice to see Zelda titles sell a million plus over there again, but that's not happening anytime soon probably. Still, I feel it's less dead than before. Just not as alive and well as in the west.
