Nah, gotta say. This looks like one of those games that kills the studio. Saw it a couple times last gen with lackluster PS3 games. RIP Ready at Dawn

How will it kill the studio? Have you seen what they made before? PS2 remasters and psp games, the order is better than any of that

Around the Network

there probably won't be a sequel.

As much as I'm enjoying The Order: 1886, its not as good as Ready At Dawn's games on PSP like God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta. It is incredible in terms of atmosphere, graphics and story, and has fine gameplay but doesn't have enough of it and has many QTE's and cutscenes.

God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta was very good in every way.

I think that after yesterday's critical demolition, there is no chance of a sequel irregardless of sales.
The Order will sell decently, I think it will easily go over a million quickly, but will have poor legs. But I simply don't see the franchise being built around this title. To create a sequel, while acknowledging all the faults of the first game, would mean a complete creative 180, changing numerous aspects.
And if there is an effort to move away from heavy cinematic/light on gameplay philosophy, it just wouldn't make much sense to reboot it using a "damaged" IP.

I can see RAD making another game, even another TPS, but it certainly won't be The Order 2.

They certainly will, go play it and ull understand.

Nothing damaged, its actually easy for them with the sequal.  Its easy to surpass the original by giving the ignorant market what they want a by the numbers tps set in their already created world will be simple enough.

Critics matter less and less, just look at the movie industry or music.

I am not talking about gameplay but production value here, as the order is now one of the best looking games outhere it was a big step from making psp games regardless of reviews

I'd say 2 million sales for a sequel. Would be a shame if it didn't

imo this game looks like it was planned to be a trilogy atleast.
No-one invests this much into a game if they havent planned a future for it.

The fact that the worst thing about the game is that theres not enough of it, is enough of a reason to give it a sequel.

Realize that all the R&D that went into The Order directly translates to shorter development times for any subsequent sequel.

In short, a sequel can be produced in a fraction of the time and a fraction of the budget of the original.

Anything short of a complete commercial disaster, (reviewers won't like their opinions being marginalized, but the final Metacritic average can be ignored) will result in a sequel.

Titanfall and Destiny will also see sequels even though neither really matched the level of anticipation and hype promoting their development and final release.

Guys is it true that The order already sold/shipped almost 4 million copies? I'm not finding any thread about it but people on /v/ are sharing this:

Any confirmation?

I think they'll bring a spiritual successor and will take the feedback positively. A bigger story mode with a bit more variation, hopefully with coop, mp or both
