Congrats!! Its party time! Heres to the handheld that is single handedly keeping the handheld market and Japanese gaming market alive!

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I hope 60M by the end of 15 :D

Gonna get flack for this, but I'd wait for shipments.

Looks like VGC will have about 50.4m end of the year, with 1m onshelves (probably should be more for such huge selling system, that's 51.4m shippd, that means they need to ship 6m~ (They shipped 7.7m this time last year).

For reference.

Q1 - Down 55%
Q2 - Down 45%
Q3 - Down 50%

Q4 - (At 6m) Down 23%

.....
From further research.

End of 2013 we had 40.42m sold, and 42.73m shipped. So 2.31m on shelves ...................................

So this little guy just reached this milestone today here on VGChartz, quite a feat 3DS, big kudos, you deserve it.

I remember the 3DS was slow in the beggining, a friend of mine just didn't knew what to do to sell the 3DS from his store, but after some time people decided tko give it a chance and it became a huge success as it 's now.

Now let's hope for the 60M to come soon!

with new 3ds/new 3ds xl, i can't imagine it'll take the whole of 2015 for it to do 60m. we still have a few more days in 2014 to account for, anyway.

i think if a successor launches (as i expect it will) in mid- to late 2017, the system will have no problem reaching gba/psp ltd figures (especially since, like the ds, it will probably remain on the market for another year, year and a half as a budget option).

2015: ~11m [new 3ds bump]

2016: ~9m

2017: ~7m [successor launches spring or holiday '17]

2018 and beyond: 3-5m

80-82 ltd

Great to hear!

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

One of the greatest turnarounds in the industry :')

to celebrate let's read this great satirical article by Colin Moriarty.

one of my favorite bits of impulse journalism. he can leave ign, but he can never get the stench of this article out. it nearly outsold the ps4 the week ending the 27th (ps4 736k vs. 3ds 724k). oh, well... sometimes all you can do is...

Oh seece I m too drowsy to express my opinion! The only thing I will say is that you ignore New3ds/xl sales in Japan and that are coming in the west, stock clear-out and the discontinuation of the old versions...
