Forums - Sony Discussion - Polygon lowers DriveClub review score due to ongoing server problems

So will they update it again after the server get fixed and works well in future...? I don't think they will even when the server is fine in future with more better online feature...

Around the Network

And rightfully so. Evolution and Sony should both be embarrassed.

To all those asking if they are going to bring the score back up when the servers work:

The score of 7.5 is still there, as you can see. There are now two scores, one from prior to launch when the entire game was working, and the other post-launch when half the game became inaccessible.
No need to do anything more, once the servers start working as they should have day one, the score will go back to 7.5, and the 5/10 will remain there as a reminder to the colossal embarassment that the launch was.

i know i've bitched about low reviews this gen but..

...justified. a game centering it's marketing around joining clubs and playing online that can't play online. such a fail. scores below 6/10 traditionally have been reserved for broken games and this game is broken.

Except it's not a broken game. Without the online it's still an addictive, higly fun track racer. This is not a 5/10 game without online, perfectly playable. On the box it says Online play (optional), not online connection required. Diablo 3 and Sim city 4 are unplayable without an online connection, you can enjoy and finish DC without ever connecting to the internet. Yes, you will miss a few cars, that's all.
Reactionary score adjustment to get attention when reporting on the server issues alone doesn't get you enough clicks.
