I don't really understand how Amiibo would work for this game anyway. In fact, I really don't understand how Amiibo will work for any game other than Smash. Nintendo really needs to explain Amiibo better....

Nah, amiibo integration is just a cute extra feature, perfect to be patched in later so you can revisit the game with the amiibo you acquired in the meantime. Captain Toad without amiibo is complete. Releasing amiibo support later also does not imply the game itself was rushed.

Amiibo is physical DLC. Easiest way to explain it.

I guess it's just me then haha. I'm still confused about what that means exactly. When I think of DLC I think of things like new stages/items/whatever. I don't really get what a toy will do in these games. I just need some specifics before I'd consider getting one.
I wonder why the eu release is even being delayed loll

Really? The statues act as DLC codes. You scan them. You get the unlocks. Simple.

Ok I think I'm starting to understand. So you're saying that for example, there could be an unlockable stage in Captain Toad: TT which can only be accessed if you have a Toad Amiibo and scan it into the game? Something along those lines?

Yes.

It's not at all clear if that's how they'll be used. In Smash, they work more like memory cards than like DLC codes.
