Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why isn't Nintendo playing a stronger Virtual Console card?

Yeah, that is the easy way out. But you know Nintendo will want to avoid this. Cause of hacks with Wii mode and other junk. Plus, people will bitch I gotta use the Wii remote to load up a f-ing gc game. Which they got a lot of hate on Wii.

What if GC games ran off their own back end? Something like a tiny Wii mode wrapper that is launched from the WiiU menu and directly loads the game? Possible or not possible?

Kind of like a button macro. That could be a option. But it has to bypass the "point Wii remote at the screen" nonsense.

I kind of get not having GC games because of the L and R buttons...
For every other console, the only reason I can think of is that they don't want my money...

Have a nice day...

What do you mean. The pad and Pro controller can deal with GC games. Nintendo is just being stupidly slow.

It would be hard to recreate the R and L buttons using the Pro Controller...

Take Super Mario Sunshine...

The depth at which you held down the R button determined the strength of the water stream...

It wasn't as simple as pressing the R button; this mechanic was also used in Luigi's Mansion...

The L and R buttons on the Pro Controller do not use the same mechanic...

The L and R buttons on the GameCube were much more than simple trigger buttons...

You know in all honesty I still don't know why Nintendo hasn't released all of their major NES, SNES and N64 games on the Wii U eShop, GameCube games I feel like Nintendo is saving for HD remasteries.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

Nintendo is inept.

Wii U VC should have Master System, NES, TG-16, Genesis, SNES, Saturn, N64, Dreamcast, GameCube, and Wii games.
3DS VC should have GB, Game Gear, GBC, GBA, and DS games.

Would so buy ALL the TG-16 games. Especially Bonk's Adventure and Legendary Axe.

Back on Topic, because Nintendo feels it knows better than what the people want...

I really think the NES SNES games are the real gems and the real ace on Nintendo sleeve. It is a great oportunity to be able to play the games that were part of gaming history, like Zelda NES or SNES Fzero.
Gamecube or N64 do not appeal to me that much.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

so the Wii U vc is actual worse than Wii's? Unless they got something better planned then they are just being silly.

Simple reasons.

GCN games get remade on Wii U.
N64 games are ripe for remakes on both 3DS and Wii U.
GB/GBC/GBA games get sequels on 3DS.
NES/SNES games get sequels on either 3DS or Wii U.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
