I think it's possible. It's definitely going to be ridiculously huge and way bigger than Melee, just because the last 7 years of Melee tournaments have been attracting new fans like crazy. I saw a guy buy Melee the day the Wii came out. The game is a behemoth. It's definitely outselling Halo 3 overall simply due to the fact that it owns Japan and Halo doesn't exist there.

But this week 1.... no idea. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Now that's a prediction I can agree with.  I'm undecided on week 1, but I definitely think it'll happen in under a fortnight!

Wonder if Ninty would hit the national press if they beat Halo 3's Week 1 WW sales with it.

Would be quite the PR blow considering their is no Smash Brothers Soda or something.

i doubt SSBB will have 1M 1st week in others. just look at SMG sales, they're very good but really not as front-loaded as in the US. i'd say 500k the 1st week (and 400k the second...). should do about 1.5M in the US 1st week

total: 2.8M 1st week, and overcoming halo very fast (may be in the 1st month)

Depends on how much GAMERFUEL Nintendo decides to sell to get everybody totally pumped.
