At least Nintendo is trying to do something different. Aside from the MMO elements, Destiny is the epitome of "Tried and True" in today's industry, and looking at the reviews compared to the press and media attention, I would definitely say the game was overhyped.

C'mon now lets be serious. All nintendo is doing is selling you pieces of plastic, with hopes of the lure of Nintendo characters as their selling point.

As a collectable, yeh, its cool, but as a selling point for games and features, this is just another "SMART" money grab.

Ill prob pick one up for my Son for Christmas but won t buy any more until I know what they do re gameplay

I thought he was done w Skylanders and thought he might want to try something else but the Skylanders adds have started running and now he wants them again - My point is of Nintendo can specify with more detail how the figures will work in games them advertise them, the demand will become much deeper ( potentially)

Working at Best Buy, Disney infinity characters were hard to come by at times. I imagine Amiibos will be twice the demand.

Because companies ordered less figurines of less popular characters. It's likely they ordered 5 times as many Mario and Pikachu figurines than Marth and Wii Fit Trainer.

OT: I'm happy I could care less about Amiibos. And don't give me that crap about, "but you couldn't care less blah blah blah" because you know what I mean and what I mean is these things are dumb.

Give the guy a break; clearly he's frustrated that the amiibo he wanted is already sold out.
