- Playstation enthusiasts who see (and play) a Halo like game for the first time.
- Only good game (at least FPS) before November (COD/Halo).
- And it is a very fun and good game

Maybe a bit overhyped but well deserved I guess

Playstation fans didn't hype it because they could finally play a game like Halo. They hyped it because Bungie pushed it on PS4.

The game certainly deserves attention given its the latest Bungie project and a major release for the year. But the hype prior to the beta was ridiculous.

I do not think you are taking this the right way :) I mean "gameplay" like Halo. For a lot of Playstation users, it is something new and refreshing compared to the Call of Duty of this world for instance.

I don't really think that is true at all.  I have played every halo game and I am ridiculously hyped for Destiny.  Same with pretty much everybody I know, which includes mostly xbox gamers... I am probably more excited for this game than I was for Halo 3 last gen.

I was pretty meh before the Alpha and Beta, but after I actually got some hands on time with the game, my hype level went through the roof.  I loved it!

Well, you act like I said it is was the only reason the game was hyped...?

It is one of the reason and yes it obviously target people who never played Halo.
I know multiple friends who never played Halo (Playstation fans mainly) and they actually find Destiny awesome and very innovative. But then one of the thing they enjoy is the shield/radar and kind of gun available in Destiny which is actually something we got in Halo from the begining.

So yes, I believe that a lot of Playstation only fans have no idea what is Halo and how similar it is to Destiny (gameplay wise) and then because they never played something like that; they like it. Now is it 20%, 10%, 90% of the hyped players/reasons, I do not know but it is defintely part of them.

And for those (not your Gergoy) who get frustrated because I'm mentionning Halo while talking about their precious Destiny. Deal with it, the gameplay IS very similar to Halo and it is the main reason why I'm personnaly very hyped (and took a week off ) for this game.

I loved the beta and I don't see it getting overhyped. Titanfall and Watch Dogs felt like the had more hype at the time.

I would say its over hyped, however its not nearly as over hyped as some other games have been. See Titanfall or the Last of Us.

What does Destiny have to do with your feelings about Titanfall or The last of us? Keep it on topic.

Because people use comparsions to make their point and help express what they're trying to said. Its done all the time even in this thread.

That's not true. The ones who did it in this thread got moderated.

Those similarities you mention to Halo are also in other games. Shields and Radar isn't something new and certain guns similar to Halo have been done in other games before.

Of course Similarities occur, they're made by the same Developers who made Halo. Just because something is Similar to another game doesn't mean it's Execution is the same.

I would have said yes if it the Beta never existed, but since the hype lived through the Beta and Alpha I'm saying the hype is fully deserved.

Wait what? You are saying its not true because they got moderated? That still means they did it. Plus, I didn't get moderated for making that comparsion. I think they got moderated for different reasons then just talking about other games in this tread. Also, do you realize by replying to my comment in the first place your getting this thread off topic.
