Forums - General Discussion - Build your own Xbox One bundle, inspiration and suggestions

Who will have the best holiday bundles?(I mean price wise)

Xbox One 2 20.00%

Play Station 4 3 30.00%

Wii U 5 50.00%

Total:10

For the ones that dont know, walmart is having a build your own Xbox one bundle. This includes for $500 kinect, forza 5 download and your choice of a second game.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Xbox-One-Kinect-Console-w-Forza-5-Download-and-Bonus-Choice-of-Game-119-Savings/25886195?wmlspartner=oelFIBIMgTk&sourceid=11842346533223581539&oid=223073.1&u1=0804IGNDDWlmrtXbxForza&affillinktype=10&veh=aff

This sounds like a great deal(Im not much into racing games but still). The first thing that came to mind was that is to bad that is only walmart. The second is that they are trying to one up nintendo. The only thing that could make this bundle perfect is that they make the kinect optional even if not for $100, lets say $425-460 it is still a very good deal and then it can be really named the build your own. The best thing unlike nintendo is they are leting you choose any game from the XONE library, not just a select 4. WHat if Im not interested in thouse 4?

Another thing is that the current bundles MS anounced do not seem that appealing. I dont think anyone will buy a XONE for madden and sunset overdrive is a new game from devs from another console, so it could do well, but I would not hope so. If they anounce a Halo:MCC could be great but I dont think it ill atract anyone who was not  already planing on purchasing the console anyways.

The reason I make this topic is that is a very good incentive going for the hollidays and all 3 should be doing something similar even if you think the ps4 does not need it, when this kind of competion comes on the holliday and the ps4 has no bundles they will be outsold by both MS and Nintendo.

For nintendo what I would recomend is something quite easy. An improvement of the MK8 bundle. When buying any of the new realesed games like Hyrule wariors, sonic, captain toad and even Smash Bros(This will do well on its own but I think it still needs a little push), you get your choice of a dowload game, but this time all over the world not just 4 for the US and 10 to Europe, it should be 10 for the whole world. Notice I did not mentioned Bayonetta2, I think that already including Bayonetta 1 remaster is a good deal on its own, but again if it dosent seem like it will sell well by all means include it. Another thing is to remove that extra Wii controler and accesories, most people already have multiple of thouse and this just increases the price so it was a bad move.

Since Sony are at such a lead it could be toughf to see a good bundle. The most obvious would be a free game of Little Big Plannet or Driveclub, But I highly doubt thouse would have a great impact. So they should really spice things up or they might loose the holidays.

Please let me know if you have any sugestions for some good holliday bundles any of the 3 could apply or if you just disagre with me.

Screw downloading a full game. They are too big this gen.

Also, don't expect major bundles this year.

May get a free game with PS4, 2 with X1 but thats it.

Wii U + Smash should do well

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

A MCC bundle will be good. X1 needs another price drop more than anything else though.

This. That's not a good deal, especially in the holiday period to hog my bandwidth with a full game download.
I might be tempted by a FH2 bundle for $349, but it has to be a physical copy.

Dont know about you but, in my country theres almost 50% on inported electronics and retail stores sell it for double, so here it is best to download games bought straigt from sonu/ms/nintendo at $60, inported is $90 and retail a litle over $100.

Same price here, or half the price if I trade in a previous game. However my ISP charges me an extra $2 per GB if we go over 80GB a month, which we're pretty close to without downloading big games.

I wouldn't mind but downloads on PS4 and X1 are typically 40 to 50gb for full titles. It would take at least 2 days for me to download something like that. It's just far quicker to go to a shop and buy a physical copy and not just that but in my country it's far cheaper than download too. Downloads of full titles cost between £50 and £60 on all 3 current gen consoles but physical copies of the same thing can be found for £40 to £45. Far cheaper.

But I hear that you have to install game data on your console anyways and that is huge as well, so its the same getting it digital. I hear the last of us is 50gb install data. How much bigger can the full game be?

Installs are the same size as downloads on the X1 and PS4 but its far far far quicker for me to buy a physical copy and install it then just download a full game.

I get 20 down and 1 up on average. So to download a 50gb game would take ages. PS4 can install it and let me play in 5 minutes. Physical copies are just far more convient for me because my internet isn't great.
