Exactly, I'm not sure why consoles are judged as having lost if they don't sell the most.

Xbox One could easily be a success at 50-60 million sold, and go down in history as one of the most underrated consoles, like the Gamecube. 


And that is the point I am trying to make. I believe there is now way that Xbox One can outsell PS4 Worldwide.But the way Xbox One is heading right now it looks like it won't even reach those numbers. The comeback for the Xbox One doesn't mean outselling the PS4 but if they are able to put up a fight in US and UK or lead in those 2 countries, then I  call this a come back. In the rest of Europe I think it's a lost cause

All things considered, isn't this thread a tad bit premature? We're what, 9 months after launch? I grasp sales trends but I think it's a little too early to say the Xbox even has to make a 'comeback'. If the way it's selling now continues for like, another year or so then yeah, I'd start spouting doom. As it stands though, It's selling decent enough given the lack of software for the twins.

I think most people are just observing the giant shadow cast down by PS4 and jumping the gun. By no means do I want MS to be successful, but let's use logic here. If MK8 can raise the base sales of WiiU like it did, we all know Halo is going to work wonders. That's a hardcore fanbase right there and I know (unfortunately) a lot of my friends are pretty much drones waiting to be activated by the MS home base. The point I'm trying to make, is that there's definitely a LOT of people around my parts that will no doubt get a X1 over PS4 because that's where the majority of our social network games on. They don't care about power or PS+ or Price, they want to be where their friends are.

Give it time.

And you will see that I made the "friends" association which explain the Xbox360 building a lead from 7 millions before the PS3 slim to 17 millions in the US (a 10 millions increase after the PS3 slim). But so far the "friends" are more on the PS4 side and MS need to react quickly because in the US, friends and first impression matters a lot. I think that by the time Halo 5 comes out it might be too late. US and UK are the only place were Xbox One has a chance of competing. That price cut going to holiday will keep the Xbox One very competive going during the holidays and going into 2015.

The only comeback that I can see for xbox one is to be decently profitable over the gen. It doesn't stand a chance against ps4 unless it starts outselling it 2:1 in NA which I don't see it happening.
