Forums - Gaming Discussion - Weekly hardware 14 June: Wii U outsell XBOX ONE after price drop.

Microsoft has lost the U.S. dominance it once had. No one console manufacturer can control it indefinitely

Hope Wii U doesn't lose

XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

RIP Iwata 12/6/1959-7/11/2015

Thanks for all the great memories!

No, looking at April it did 30k~ a week in US alone, May is an anomoly for obvious reasons.

No, the console in July/Augost sell less of April.

XBOX ONE sell 50,000 in April, and before annunced price drop 44,000.

So, less of 35,000 is possible.

Really don't understand anything you're saying.

Again I'm siding with BenV who has said sales are on par with PS4 (50k a week in US). May NPD was lowest (77k) for obvious reasons).

I still don´t understand why Sony or any other sales analist said PS4 outsold the competition for more than twice.

April we at least had some "insiders" claiming that.

Sony also pass on every oportunity to claim the 8mi mark or twice the total sales for 2014.

So much damage control. No matter which way you spin it, the numbers are right there, and they don't lie.

What have those retail releases done for Microsoft's metrics?

Titanfall has sold more Xbox Ones than Mario Kart has sold Wii U's.

And whatever anyone thinks, Titanfall is B tier when it comes to shifting consoles.

That's funny considering a few months ago that some people were hyping it up as A Tier.

I gotta feeling it'll stay like this for awhile...

Truth is -- There really isn't a compelling reason to own an XOne yet this year, and maybe not until Halo 5 or maybe Scalebound IMO. Nearly every one of X1's best games is on/will be on another platform -- and it's likely better over there too (ex WD on PS4 > X1, Titanfall PC > X1, etc). The only other game that doesn't fit that mold is Sunset Overdrive, but that's hardly a system seller. This is a factor that's really cutting the legs out under the X1.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

The title of this thread alone was always going to upset some people, I'm more surprised at how little a bump the price cut gave the X1 it's clear the platform is in trouble as we're entering into the summer drought and this is when momentum really drains from all platforms. X1's problem is that it's too similar to the PS4 and it's coming across as a lesser PS4 with nothing else to differentiate itself. I'm guessing the "it's not out everywhere" excuse is going to be even more common now.

You know what's funnier? When people think 1 person dictates what an entire fanbase says and thinks.

Not some; most of the X1 fans did, all the time. Just take a look at some of the older threads. Titanfall was supposed to be the savior.
