PS4 Version of Beyond: Two Souls Possibly Ousted by DualShock 4 Input Code

by Giuseppe Nelva (23 minutes ago) 2

If The Last of Us: Remastered is any indication Sony seems fond of the idea of re-publishing the latest PS3 games on PS4, and something possibly ousting a PS4 version of Beyond: Two Souls has emerged thanks to NeoGAF user Dragonbane.

The screenshot that you can see at the bottom of the post was, according to Dragonbane, posted in one of the game’s programmers portfolios, but was almost immediately removed, but not before it was noticed and saved by the watchful eye of the internet.

What is it? Basically it’s the input code of the game for a DualShock 4 controller, which is a very plausible hint for an upcoming PS4 version of the game.

In addition to that Dragonbane’s detective work also exposed a reference to possibly reintegrating cut scenes in a “Director’s Cut” edition.

The port probably wouldn’t be too difficult, considering that the development pipeline behind Beyond: Two Souls already runs on PS4. It was used by Quantic Dream to create the impressive The Dark Sorcerer tech demo showcased at last year’s E3.

Of course we can’t be sure that the port will really happen, as the code could be just a test, or even part of a canceled project, but it surely is a good indication.

They probably won't have to do too much work with this, as the game already looks like a PS4 title lol. Plus I don't think it sold as well as Heavy Rain. About 1 million, which is still good, but a port to the PS4 would help sell more copies.

Lolll... Is Sony gonna do this with all of their games? I guess it makes sense, who needs backwards compatibility when we can just resell one year old games

Hopefully its just Playstation Now compatiblity thing where maybe you can rebind the controls

Not really suprising to be quite honest. It came like a month before the PS4 launched so it makes sense that they'd port to make make more money. With that said, I still won't buy it until it is cheaper—even if I have never played it.

Would be teh best looking current gen title.

They've only done two games...and this one isn't even confirmed so only one game.

At least remaster games that are more then a year or two old

sweet, wanted to play this on ps3 but passed on it due to too much to play. would be a perfect title to fill out my ps4 library lull this summer.

Is that a criteria now? Did you just make it up? Let me guess when GTA V for next gen consoles gets announced you're going to get excited?

You're not forced to buy these remasters, don't complain lmfao. If you feel that they are a rip off, then speak with your wallet.

2 games is already more than what their competitors are doing... Heck, one game is more than what their competitors are doing... Nintendo or MS has yet to even reveal a "remaster" for a game that literily launched less than a year ago... I get the Last of Us but this thing didn't sell as much and isn't critically acclaimed...

But again, as I said, hopefully this isn't a remaster
