We'll see in some weeks, how continues to perform Titanfall and the X1 besides of second week for Infamous ss.

Around the Network

It did ok, it made the XB1 outsell the PS4 ww for a week on VGC right..But Sony blowing past last week's lead with a restocking and another Infamous game does put into perspective what Titanfall accomplished (or didn't) in the grand scheme of things.

It's not necessarily a fail or even a disappointment but probably "underwhelming" is the right word.

In terms of financial success, possibly it didn't sell directly to justify MS's financial commitment to EA (who knows how much) but MS milks enormous network effects, which are hard to quantify. Any XB1 sold is more awareness of the game to be sold in X360 (one for MS!) or on PC, which keeps Windows's (and PC's) popularity / dominance (another for MS). Also it does not only lead to more sales for XB1, at its early stages, but also steals potential sales from PS4, which is amplified in time through the given momentum.

So I believe, through the network effects on so many different channels, it makes a lot more sense for MS, which is a terrible company in consumer terms, and I really do not lke them, but they are, by no means, idiots. They are still as brilliant as they have always been in commercial sense. However, they suffer a huge bureaucratic incompetence or lack of creative direction, in addition to being big clumsy bullies.
