Considering the $999 price of their Personal 3D viewer, most of your price predictions seem wildly optimistic.

From the looks of it I think the price goes up because you will need move and the camera.

I think only the camera is neccesary

Yes.

Move will be needed for some games, but it's not needed for vr itself.

Yes yes, let's pretend their top of the line T3W with two 1280x720 OLED panels (one per eye) plus the driver hardware is anywhere close to the much simpler tech of a 1080p panel shared between each eye, and that the similarly speced T1 isn't half that price too.

Good grief.

Im Guessing that the move is needed for Headtracking?

Head tracking is done on the VR unit itself (at a higher sensitivity than occulus rift, too). Move is used specifically for tracking the position in the room (doing something oculus rift does not, tracking forward motion and not just pivoting the head in a fixed position)

Yeah the PS4 camera is used for tracking the headset. The new Crystal Cove kit from Rift does this as well:

It's just as important as rotation tracking in my opinion.

Oculus sat on their hands with development progression too long imo.

My biggest gripe with rift was the disconnection with lateral motion in the head not translating to lateral motion in games, the "fixed point rotation" causes nausia after a short time, especially for FPS, without resolving that issue they would never be able to market it full swing.

Crystal cove is just one of their prototype models, too, theres no solid plans in place to push it, or any other prototype to developers outside of internal, and no solid plans for a retail release, it's actually quite a mess right now.

Hopefully Sony's announcement will help them and not bury them. It'd be great to have a healthy VR industry.
