Which one should i get for my PS3, have never played either game before.

They are really different games and it depends on you. I would go for tales because Minecraft is best on PC. My nephew adores Minecraft, but I got bored with it really quickly.

If you have friends Minecraft for sure, Tales of S is fine but if you not played a Tales game yet, get Xilia first..

Have played xillia and loved it, I also played graces F and it's one of my favorite games from the generation.

Why ask? Get Tales of S....   Or get Minecraft and wait Tales of S is more cheap (guess will not take long before price drop right?)..

IF you want an RPG get tales, if you want a creative lego game with monsters get Minecraft
