Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Iwata to take 50% pay cut, entire Nintendo board to take pay reductions

Stolen from gaf:

Here are the specifics:

The entire board is taking pay reductions from the period of Feb until June. Iwata is taking a 50% reduction as the company president. The two other representative directors, Genyo Takeda and Shigeru Miyamoto, will be taking a 30% reduction. All remaining directors on the board will take a 20% reduction. These include Tatsumi Kimishima, Kaoru Takemura, Shigeyuki Takahashi, Satoshi Yamato, Susumu Tanaka, Shinya Takahashi, and Hirokazu Shinshi. Iwata says that beyond June, they will decide based on the business environment at that time.

That's so unamerican. He deserves all the hate.

Wonder what kind of money they are all on.

Surely Iwata's pay must be closing in on the negatives by now?

This is why I support Nintendo. When things go wrong, they don't point fingers, they look at themselves and think "damn, we screwed up, we don't deserve our full pay until we get things back in order".

Didn't he do this with the 3DS? Look how bad that turned out... (looks at recent sales charts)

Damn. Now it'll take two years to pay off his 20th house :^)

again? dude you must fire people and sell buildings and keep your income the same or ells people will hate you and want you fired!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

If Nintendo ever leave video games I sure hope they take up international banking.

Are you saying the Wii U will have a similar turnaround?
