In what world does "minimal use" constitute the use in all 4 major FF games of a generation? That's pretty much the most use any FF engine ever got. It was also used for DQX.

It was used in one mainline FF and its two direct sequels. It was also used in a MMO that was a technical disaster due to it running on Crystal Tools. Lastly, it was used for Drgaon Quest X, which is basically a last-gen game (Wii quality graphics, later uplscaled for Wii U). Therefore, it indeed experienced minimal use.

I honestly don't see FFXV selling more than 1.5 million lifetime in Japan. The franchiase is slowly falling out of popularity in that country. To put it into perspective, FFXIII sold 1.5 million first week in Japan and 1.9 million lifetime. I'm expecting 1.2 million first week for FFXV and 1.5 million lifetime.

Could be a good or bad sign.

Good If this means they are already working on FFXVI, obviously a separate team. It harkens back to the Golden era where the main entries were'nt seperated by 5 years with rubbish spin-off and sequels filling in the gaps inbetween

Bad if it means they're working on some unwanted/uneeded spinoff.

Although based on the intended use of Luminous engine, this could be anything ranging from Tomb Raider Next gen, to a 3DS or PSVita game.
