Even though this is a marketshare conversation, we all need to remember that ios isn't really declining. The smartphone market is still expanding at a rapid pace. Apple is still selling more iphones every quarter compared to the same quarter in the previous year by a large margin. What is more telling is t hat they are the sole distributor of ios. Whereas there are hundreds of companies selling Android devices. It's the same for Windows phone, as Nokia distributes 90+% of them. That's what makes the Windows phone and Android #'s so impressive. To double your market share, you have to not just double your sales, you need to increase them an extra amount to account for the market growth.

It is near the end of the end....

Apples down and out by 2016.

They haven't moved the OS with the times at all. Windows Phone is actually level or beating IOS in 3 countries now. Also Wow. I didn't know in the UK Windows had that much percentage. Impressed. Always said all Windows Phone needed to do is keep growing. And it has every year. 6 years ago everyone had Iphone. Now you hardly see anyone with one.

Android is unstoppable. Largely thanks to Samsungs success rather than the OS though. MY Wifes on her 7th Galaxy S3. And its all OS related faults. Not hardware.

I know..... all that money for Samsung and Microsoft.  Sensational.

When will Google fix the whole patent issues and stop losing a portion of the profit to MS?

Is that even fixable? Surely it must be.

OT: That's pretty impressive. It's still not even close to iOS and Android where I'm from, but that's anecdotal I don't have any data to back that up.

You cray cray if you think Apple are done by 2016!! If it got bad they'd swallow their pride and compete in price. But like that guy above me said, iPhone sales are increasing.

PS. Back when Windows Phone launched and I said on these very forums Windows 8, WP8 and the new Xbox together will work wonders for awareness of metro. I was told don't be such a douche. It will never beat Apple. Blah blah blah.

Look now.

Microsoft are doing awesome lately.

Microsoft making more profit now than anytime in their history as a company. FACT.
Microsoft entered the mobile market against all analyst and naysayers and are increasing marketshare every year. And not far from beating Iphone.
Microsoft have just had the best launch an Xbox console ever had with living room changing features.

They are on fire as a company.

Still haven't found anyone I know personally who's willing to keep one. My brother had one for a year and couldn't wait to get back to Android. (now has Galaxy S4) However, that new commercial focused on the camera... darn good commercial.

Great to see iOS shrinking in almost every territory.
