Forums - Gaming Discussion - Your best console online multiplayer experiences of last gen

1. Call of Duty: World at War, for Nazi Zombies. Best mode ever.
2. Call of Duty: Black Ops, Zombies again, not quite as good as in WaW, but much better than Black Ops 2.
3. Halo 3, forge maps, I loved making creepy tunnels, setting the lighting to pitch dark and playing infection in private matches with some friends. Awesome.
4. Dead Island, yes I know, it was buggy and unpolished but being able to play through the entire campaign with 3 other friends and slay crazy amounts of zombies along the way was great. Hopefully Dying Light will take everything they did wrong and fix it, because that game really had potential.
5. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, This was the height of the multiplayer experience, this is where COD peaked, everyone was playing it, it was a great experience but there wasn't much depth to it, aside from the very addictive leveling system.

Honorable mentions: The Last of Us, so much potential there, it is a great cooperative game but they've really missed the boat by not adding an infection mode. The general consensus was that it was coming, everytime I went on there I'd hear everyone complaining about how much they want it. I still have faith in Naughty Dog to add one, but until then, you didn't make the list.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, this game deserves to be on the list but Modern Warfare 2 was pretty much the same game... only it built on this, so its the better experience in my opinion. Also the COD hype wasn't very high, it really peaked with MW2.

Warhawk, my god this saved me in 2007, this game was the absolute best! Just no words to describe it, the best online experience at the time and it wasn't even a big budget game. Starhawk really disappointed me, but Warhawk will forever have a place in my heart.
