It will beat the Wii U's launch sales (2.2m) for sure, doubt it'll top the Wii U's current sales (3.8m) in just it's launch season, but I suspect that it'll pass the Wii U by the end of 2014 unless the Wii U's sales perk up in a big way very soon. Why? Because the One is tracking ahead of the 360 in preorders and has at least 2 system sellers coming next year (Halo and Titanfall), while the Wii U's current 3.8m is behind the 360 in the same time period (the 360 sold 7.9m by the end of 2006, meaning that the Wii U needs to sell another 4.1m units by the end of December in order to catch the 360) and the Wii U only has one two confirmed system seller releasing next year (Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart.).

I wasn't aware that Mario Kart had a confirmed 2014 release window. I was looking on Wikipedia and there was no release window at all mentioned.

Yeah, Nintendo said Spring 2014. Otherwise, I agree with your post.

Gotta check the Mario wiki lol

Holiday vs holiday or LTD vs LTD?

First is somewhat likely. Second just can't happen.

I would also add Donkey Kong to that list, 4 out of 5 mainline DK games have sold over 5 million.

Its possible and either way I believe it will be close. I see Wii U, PS4 and One each doing 2-3 million over the holidays.

I think it will be close for the 2013 holiday season. No way in hell for total sales.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

Well, if we're going to add Donkey Kong, I feel like the Xbox One needs Fable Legends and Forza 5 added to it's system seller list, since both series have multiple games that have sold over 4 million. Though Fable Legends still isn't confirmed for 2014, but I feel like it will release in 2014.

Forza 5 is this year not 2014. But ya I would consider Fable a system seller. That puts them at 3 a piece.

No doubt about it.
