Edit: To summarize, this really has little to do with the game Call of Duty: Ghosts.

I'm saying that something doesn't add up and I'd like to know why. If PS4 was confirmed to be 1080p and Xbox One confirmed 720p then why do the comparison videos and reviews look nearly identical? Is is something with the video capture, something with the output to TV or is there something with the PS4 version of COD:Ghosts. 

When you post a comparison video or a review you better damn well have everything setup right or you're doing a huge disservice to your audience. If the PS4 was set to 720p then the sites need to state that fact up front. People with 1080p TVs won't be seeing that.

Even with crappy YouTube artifacts, you can tell by the aliasing that it's the exact same resolution:

1080p vs 720p should be day and night to tell the difference. But it´s even harder to tell than Battlefield 4, which is 900p vs 720p.

So, for gaffers is the Doritocracy that forced every single site to mess up with the capture cards or output settings?

No, this is actually the internal render resolution being 720p. Otherwise the PS4 version would have supersampling which means non of the jaggies shown in the gif.

I looks exactly the same to me. I don't see any difference in sharpness or whatever whatsoever. And my face here is planted against a computer screen even.

In fact, I actually think the game looks better on Xbox One, solely because I like those softer colors better.

Semi-confirmed now. qauz51 who is one of the few verified pixel counters on the web says PS4 COD single player is 720P, MP is 1080P (with unstable framerate).

Remember this is not some random Joe, this one of the basically two verified pixel counters on the web (the other being Alstrong at Beyond3D forum)

Wow if true. A real heavy blow to the PS4 and any differences, and some vindication for Major Nelson/Penello.

Now sadly the story will shft to "Wow IW are some crappy developers" instead of blaming the hardware like people were doing before against Xbox One...

He hinted to three threories...

- Activision has been lying for some unknown reason about the PS4 version's resolution.
- Gaming reviewers have been stupidly ignoring this.
- The direct feed capture equipment could have been set to 720p and 60fps as opposed to 1080p and 30 fps, to capture the framerate feel. Maybe video capturing equipment owners can shed a light on this.

I can't see why Activision will lie for one hardware and not for another... and the Elgato used by most reviewers didn't capture in 1080p@60fps... this third theory have a good chance.
