Is it bad that I actually thought this was real for a second? Pretty reminiscent of the last ad featuring xbox one facts.

Of course some games can run at 1080p/60fps on X1. Even PS3 managed to do that with "Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection Online" However what third party games like COD and BF prove to me is that PS4 is indeed 50%+ more powerful (the gap is even larger with COD but I guess that's due to PS4's slightly easier RAM access) When the hardware structure is very similar, Multiplatform is the way to compare. That wasn't the case with PS3 because it had an extremely different architecture. Everything from GPU, CPU, RAM, and Drive was different. Well that's not how it is now as PS4 is simply a turborcharged X1. I could be wrong, but so far COD and BF4 are supporting this claim, which also corresponds with the hardware specs on paper. I apologize if I offended and for going a little off topic. But it really wouldn't hurt if we accept the bad news against the consoles we like. especially when these news are 100% true. |
So you think PS3 can do it and the Xbox One can't outside luanch period? Even with the Cell and it's difficulties to develop for? What a joke. I'm not even going to bother replying to you anymore.
It really makes me wonder how hardcore some people can get with supporting their favorite brand. I mean, sure we can all be biased to a certain degree, but how far can you go with it? After the 720p scandal, people will still support the Xbox One? Pay 100 dollars more, for a product that runs games at the same resolution as the previous generation? For what? For Kinect? How many people are gonna pay 500 dollars in 2013/14 to play games at 720p (again)? And lets not forget all the disgusting policies they had to reverse at the last moment to remain relevant.

So I guess after the launch period Xbone GPU will download 50% more computing units, 100% more Rops, and double the available EsRAM amount? That is the part where the elephants will fly, I guess.

It was, I just jumped the gun. Too many ,"X1 can't do 1080i/p " comments and threads for my liking. I really don't see how the Xbox One's capabilities are in question when it comes to resolution though. If the PS3 can in fact do it, why not the X1? The Xbox One will be easy to develop and port for than the PS3 was at the same time during it's life. It's basically ESRAM vs The Cell when it comes to the main obstacle. Surely, the x86 architecture would make the X1 worlds easier than the PS3 too... and I haven't even mentioned the power difference between them... It'll just take time and common sense I believe.

Though your points are mostly valid, you shouldn't forget that there are other factors that can affect a person choice, such as preference on exclusive and game franchises, loyalty caused by experience of services and quality of products, maybe even the alignment with the choice of one's close social background.
What the price is, for any of those, is a different matter. If they worth 100$ or 500$ is up to ... any individual's pocket size.
This, I stole from grandpa...It's called soap.

Maybe they are following the games that interest them instead of the brand. If someone finds Halo, Fable, Forza, Killer Instinct, Crimson Dragon, LocoCycle, Project Spark, TitanFall, Kinect Sports, Kinect Fitness, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive more appealing than the competitors exclusives than it may be worth the extra $100 since 3rd party support will likely be equel. Maybe some people really enjoyed Kinect on 360 and with the new one being superior, theres a chance said people will find it worth the extra $100. Maybe some people find Xbox Live to be the best online service, for those people $100 might not be too much difference. Maybe all the new TV services Xbox One offers is worth an extra $100 for some people. Or maybe none of those things I listed are worth it alone but combined it makes it worth an extra $100.
Not everybody cares about which console has the most power/best graphics, if people were like that than PS2 and Wi wouldnt have been as successful as they were. Back in 2006 did u ask why anybody would spend an extra $200 for a console that runs games at the same resolution and has a much inferior online service? For bluray?
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
Huh what?! Oh its fake... Good thing that tangent was called off.

Yes I did. I bought a 360 first, long before buying a PS3, and it was my primary console until around 2009. At the beginning of the previous generation, Microsoft had better graphics, better price, better online, and better games. Gears of War and Halo 3 were f*cking awesome, while Resistance sucked. Only later, they stopped caring about games, and all they cared about was Kinect and dancing games, while Sony was releasing games like Infamous & Uncharted 2.
And why would a 360 owner buy an Xbone? To play games at the same resolution as 2006? Titanfall will be available on the Xbox 360 too, at 720p.
