I'm planning to get my fist Pokemon game at an age of 26.

Now, I don't know anything about Pokemon and it's creatures, so I have no idea which version is "better".

I also don't think that a complete noob could tell a difference even if somebody would tell me, so I just want you to help me pick one version by choosing it in the poll. Thanks

Congrats for getting into Pokemon. You'll be seeing every Pokemon for the first time. In terms of which version to get, the story is the same for both. The only thing I believe is different is the version exclusive Pokemon. I believe more people have gotten X than Y as well, making Y the less popular of the choice.

Get X if you want the better Pokemon, get Y if you want the less popular of the two. Hope you enjoy!

Edit: I got both, but I like Yvetal more than Xerneas. Although, I will probably be putting more time into X than Y.

The only large difference between both games are the exclusive pokemon that you can get on either version, plus each of the version's legendary pokemon (the one in the cover of each respective game, Xerneas for X and Yveltal for Y).

There's also some minor differences, such as some evolutionary items being exclusive to X or Y, but that doesn't usually affect your choice.

Personally I went with Y because of Yveltal.
