Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I never played a Pikmin game before, enjoyed Little King´s Story...would I enjoy Pikmin 3?

Little King´s Story is actually one of the best games I´ve played on the Wii, and based on the vids I´ve seen of Pikmin 3, I take it the game is similar..is that correct?

I plan to get a Wii U by the end of the year, and Pikmin 3 keeps showing up on my radar...for someone who got hooked on LKS, is Pikmin 3 the next best thing?

Pikmin 3 is better..much better. GOTY for me so far, and yes i have The Last of us.

Good to know.I heard there´s some kind of time limit or something, that you have to finish the game in X days..any truth to that?

Well, you can keep playing as long as you have food reserves. If you collect all the fruit you will have reserves for about 100 days, so I guess that's your time limit. But 99% of people according to the leaderboard finish the campaign in about 30 to 40 days, so you have to be reeeaaaalllllyyyyyy slow to hit that cap. I finished the campaign in 29 days and 100% it in 39 days on my first playthrough all by myself (no guides etc).

Pikmin 3 is the best game in this genre by far. Little Kings Story is good but it doesn't measure up to Pikmin 3.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I never played Pikmin before and I'm loving Pikmin 3, really addictive and the game looks gorgeous.

That was only present in Pikmin 1. Pikmin 2 doesn't have a day limit, as well as Pikmin 3.

I suggest buying Pikmin 2. The game is "Nintendo Selects" so it'll only be 20$.

Also I'm not rushing through the game either, I like exploring the maps and seeing what I can find, some days is just to stock up on fruit supplies, abut can't get enough :)

PIck up the first two Pikmin games. Much cheaper. Pikmin 1 is one of my favourite games of all time, and I think both 1 & 2 have aged fantastically well.

And I haven't played Pikmin 3, but the first two games are vastly superior to Little King's Story, imo.

This is my first RTS, ever.

I just kind of wish i had the ability to slow things down to make decisions, similar to KOTOR where you can pause, but flip between characters while paused and just take a bit of time to clear your head and piece together what's going on around the map.

Did not do well against the first boss t_t

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

never played a pikimin game before but i am loving pikimin 3 (though it is kicking my ass)
