That was too wasy, thanks for that! To answer your other retort, Halo's been my first real FPS game in this genre. I may check out Bioshock and definitely Borderlands. So I'm just a casual Halo player.

IM not a big fan of Bioshock but people love it.  Along with Halo it is one of the only FPS games that has a really good story.  Though I like Resistance's Story too.

Borderlands is a lot of fun with coop xD  I dont remember much about it's story though.  It is a Humorous game.

Yeah, it does seem unlikely, too good to be true honestly, but perhaps not impossible. As we were discussing earlier, 343i is a pretty big team, large enough that they could potentially make a game that size in 2 years. In an open world game alot of time gets used up travelling between locations, plus open world games are often padded with some side-quests that take minimal effort to make, so it's actually not as big as it seems at first. Borderlands 2 had about a 30 hour story, and Gearbox did it with a fairly small budget, so I assume that 343i could as well. 

But yeah, if this was true, Halo 5 would likely be the best selling Halo yet, topping Halo 3 by a decent margin. It's everything I ever wanted in a Halo game all rolled up into one, open world with dynamic weather and day/night cycle, multiple planets to travel to in one game, a longer story, Cortana returning, the Arbiter returning (though not playable until Halo 6), finally getting to see the other remaining Spartan II's who were friends with Master Chief (Linda 058, Kelly 087, Frederic 104), the return of Classic Halo multiplayer, larger maps and gametypes.


To be honest im not sure i'd want an ipen world halo.  Maybe a little bigger but FPS games work better with a more linear style in my opinion if youre trying to tell a story as well.

I haven't seen this get brought up yet but Microsoft needs to put Avatars and Friends on one of the tabs on XBO like it is on X360.  Rare Ltd's Avatars are a staple to Xbox that allows you to personalize your Xbox Account so your friends can see so this is a must have in my opinion.  Fix it Microsoft!  I miss my Avatar!

Yeah 343i is already like 300 but Microsoft seems to want things to things done in 2-3 years and with Rare, Lionhead, and 343i theyre all working on multiple projects at any given time.  Rare is working on 3 and Lionhead is working on 2.  343i who knows about them but they just finished up Halo Spartan Assault

I'm pretty confident that 343i is making a Halo game for the Xbox 360 too just so they don't end up deserting their core fanbase. Hopefully something to do with a Halo 2 remake.

Real talk, right now and especially in the past few months the XBONE has been in a bad situation. Microsoft realised this when they did their 180s. It means it's very unlikely for the next Halo to redefine the franchise. Right now what they need is a Halo 3 2.0. A classic game that gets all the old fans to buy the system. They'll take risks with the next game.

I dont think Conker will anytime soon but I believe Banjo will for sure as Rare already said that internally a lot of people want to do another Banjo game.

Im not so certain that XBO has been in near as bad of a situation as people on forums made it out to be.  Plus Microsoft has been gearing up with first party developers for multiple years, not just the last 6 months.  Same goes with Halo. The DRM turnaround very likely didnt effect 343i what so ever. The 180's to this day are little over exagerated after the moment they took down DRM.

I dont mind if they take risks with the game but they need to stay true to the halo fanbase as well.
