1. PS3 has had Remote Play for years, starting with the PSP and Xperia phones, far before the Wii U existed. The reason people think Sony is ripping off the Wii U with the Vita Remote Play is because the Vita finally has dual analog sticks and streaming capabilities to properly play PS3 games. It's also because it has a touchscreen.
2. PlayStation Move was in development for well over ten years. Here is a video shown in 2000 of the then called "Wand" working with the PS2 EyeToy. If anything, Nintendo copied Sony.

3. Near is a blatant ripoff of StreetPass. It also sucks ass. F*ck Near.

I feel like this is one of those cases of "DIGIMON COPIED POKEMON" problems.

agree with 1 and 3 but 2 isn't certain as Nintendo don't share their research as openly as Sony. So fuck know what they were doing.

It really doesnt matter as all of them copy great ideas.

I find it amazing to think that if Nintendo was copying Sony that they managed to get it out the door so quickly. Nintendo isn't including online for Mario World Wii U because they can't get it absolutely perfect, so beating Sony to a release of motion/ remote play tech seems questionable if they were copying it. Chances are you'tr right and this is just a case of convergent product development: Nintendo beat them to the punch because their dev team is used to following through on wierd ideas and Sony's is used to focusing on chipsets.

Still, I would love to see Nintendo and Sony cooperate like they were BFFs and cross-integrate their consoles. Can you imagine playing Legend of Dragoon 2, taking full advantage of the PS4's graphical power and the Wii U's gamepad/ Wiimote controls at the same time? Best game frickin' ever.  Alas, Sony's philosophy has always been "buy only Sony products" to the point that the Vita and PSP have their ridiculously overpriced memory cards instead of industry-standard SD cards.

I don't actually believe that Nintendo copied Sony. I am just saying that they've been researching the technology for PlayStation Move for a very, very long time. I said "If anything, Nintendo copied Sony," keywords being if anything

Guess what it is and what system it's for. Also, people saying GC-GBA =/= PS3-PSP need to read some history. Not to mention Nintendo was already working on that during the N64 era.

Now, on-topic. Have deja-vu, seems like I read this before sometime.

Seriously? You're going to compare the Power Glove to a glowing ball of light being tracked on a camera? Now you guys are really stretching it.

He's claiming that, if anything, Nintendo copied Mattel.

Not stretching it in any sense. Motion control is motion control. Concept is the same, the esthetic and precise technology (which evolves, naturally) of the device is irrelevant. And oh, the Japanese Power Glove was also tracked by camera's (sensors anyway).

Exactly .

I love how a thread always ends in a fanboy war

Sony always was a copycat they never really had own ideas, at first PS1 era they copied Nintendo a lot, than they copied a lot from Microsoft like Xbox live, Gamescore, Games like Halo and Gears of War, with Killzone, Uncharted and Resistance and recently they go more back to copying from Nintendo with the playstation move, little big planet karting and playstation all stars.

Sony always was quite successful with the copycat tactic.
