Fortnite continues to be catnip for lawyers, this time finding itself targeted by a Montreal legal firm that's requested authorisation for a class action lawsuit on behalf of parents of two children who are allegedly addicted to the battle royale.

Makers of Samorost and Machinarium release a quirky new adventure game, Pilgrims
Amanita Design, the makers of Machinarium and the Samorost series, have released a quirky new adventure game, seemingly without warning. (Surprise! Isn't it nice when a game is just out instead of preceded by four months of trailers?) It's called Pilgrims, it's available now, and having played it this morning I can confirm it's crafted with the same beautifully offbeat art and animation as Amanita's previous games.

World of Warcraft Classic's new Dire Maul dungeon will arrive ahead of schedule next week
Dire Maul, located in the Feralas zone in World of Warcraft, is an ancient, ruined Night Elf city and, in more practical gameplay terms, a major dungeon from back in the day: Wowhead says it's "remembered fondly by most raiders as one of the most important sources for world buffs which used to be key to defeating bosses in raids ... It was one of Blizzard's first divergent dungeons in which alternate paths—such as skipping bosses—were encouraged."

World of Warcraft's upcoming races revealed: adorable foxes and cyborg gnomes
Blizzard unexpectedly just revealed the upcoming 8.3 update for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth in an 18-minute video detailing all of the new features players can look forward to when it launches, presumably, early next year. But of those new features, one is sure to set the community on fire: The fox-like Vulpera are joining the Horde as a playable Allied Race while the less-exciting Mechagnomes team up with the Alliance.

World of Warcraft's 8.3 update revealed, pits you against an eldritch god
You won't have to wait until Blizzcon 2019 to find out about World of Warcraft's next major update because Blizzard just went ahead and surprised everyone with an 18-minute video revealing Update 8.3, Visions of N'zoth, that will be arriving on the beta servers later today and, I expect, will launch in full sometime early next year.

World of Warcraft's auction house is getting a complete overhaul and it looks awesome
World of Warcraft's next major update was unveiled today in an 18-minute developer video with game director Ion Hazzikostas. It includes most of the expected features, including a new raid, new races, and plenty else—but one unexpected addition is a completely overhauled auction house system that looks to make trading with other players easier than ever.

Rust adds horse armor
Survival sandbox Rust continues to grow and change, having added hot air balloons, electricity, and even underwear in the past 12 months. Back in June, horseback riding was added, which set the stage for this most recent and extremely important update to Rust: Horse armor.

Apex Legends 'Fight or Fright' event features a creepy, twilit Kings Canyon
Next week Apex Legends will get a three week halloween-themed event called Fight or Fright, as previous leaks have suggested. It will see the return of the Kings Canyon map as the setting for a zombie-themed limited time mode.

Save the birds in dreamy free adventure game Flutter
Flutter is a game where you walk in a line, from left to right, so I suppose it doesn't fit neatly into the adventure game label I've laid on it. There are no puzzles, and it lasts 5-10 minutes, but you get a full blast of a dreamy sci-fi story for that brief duration.

The NHS is opening its first game addiction clinic
The NHS is opening a clinic to treat people aged 13 to 25 for videogame addiction. This follows the World Health Organisation officially recognising gaming disorder as a disease earlier this year.

Recompile shows off its flashy hacking powers in a slick new trailer
Recompile, Phigames' 3D Metroidvania, takes place in a messy Mainframe full of half-sentient programmes, which you—a naughty bit of code that's facing deletion—have to escape. The striking new trailer takes us on a brief tour on the Mainframe and some new environments and offers up a first look at some new hacking mechanics.

Destiny 2 players are getting their season passes back after a cross save issue
Bungie is giving Destiny 2 players who accidentally bought the season pass on an inactive account access to it on their main account. While an update in the known issues post implies user error, players on the official forums say otherwise, claiming that the problem stemmed from cross save not working.

Doom Eternal has been delayed until 2020
Doom Eternal won't be hitting its November 22 release date, unfortunately. Developer id Software announced the delay on Twitter, along with a few more changes the team has made.
The new release date is March 20, 2020. id says it needs more time to "live up to our standards of speed and polish".

See Fallout 4's Preston Garvey in his final form—a super mutant
Poor Preston Garvey. All he wants to do is rebuild the Commonwealth by nagging you to help out settlements every fifteen seconds for the entirety of Fallout 4. And for that, he's become a punching bag for the entire internet. Just a few months ago a modder made Preston Garvey six inches tall and gave him a chipmunk voice, a true indignity for a good man with a harmless (yet obnoxious) settlement fetish.
Today, something a little different for the Minutemen's senior officer. A modder has helped Preston Garvey reach his final form, that of a super mutant.

Argonus and the Gods of Stone is an old-school adventure inspired by '70s fantasy films
Argonus and the Gods of Stone is a new free-roaming adventure game from Zojoi, the maker of the (very) retro revival Shadowgate. It's not as punishing as its predecessor—it won't instantly kill you for looking in the wrong direction—but even so it's a very old-school sort of experience that has you shipwrecked on an island in mythological ancient Greece that's filled with alarmingly lifelike stone statues.

Untitled Goose Game goose gets jerkier, strips town of all valuable objects
I was fed up with the jerk goose: I was determined never to write about the bastard again. Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 will include a Destiny 2 raid, Bloodlines, and Sekiro
A list of the games being tackled by speedrunners at Awesome Games Done Quick in January of next year has been released, and it includes a bunch of highlight PC games. A team will be taking on Destiny 2's Last Wish raid with all encounters, which should be an interesting one. Speedrunning a live-service game presents an interesting challenge—here's hoping Destiny 2 doesn't get patched between now and January in a way that completely invalidates their plan.

Epic Games says it won't punish Fortnite players for political speech
Blizzard is currently wrangling a PR nightmare over Hearthstone Grandmaster Chung "Blitzchung" Ng Wai's call for Hong Kong's liberation from China in a recent post-match interview. Perhaps sensing an opening, Epic Games has now waded into the fray, telling The Verge that Fortnite players are free to speak their minds without fear of punishment.

Google thinks Stadia will have less lag than your PC in two years
In an interview with Edge Magazine, Google's VP of engineering Madj Bakar claims Google Stadia will be superior to gaming on desktops and other local hardware "in a year or two." With the tech it's been developing in modeling and machine learning, Bakar says that Stadia will make games feel more responsive in the cloud, and make them run faster than they do locally "regardless of how powerful the local machine is." He says this can be done through something called "negative latency."
>> Ha, ha ha ha ha!

Blizzard employees staged a walkout over Hearthstone Grandmaster's suspension
Blizzard's harsh punishment of former Hearthstone Grandmaster Chung 'blitzchung' Ng Wai over his call for the liberation of Hong Kong caused a powerful backlash against the company. According to a Daily Beast report, some of that reaction has come from within the company itself, as a small number of employees walked out of work yesterday afternoon to protest its actions.
>> And, from some comments on the net, it looks like it's impossible to delete your Blizzard accounts.

The original Half-Life just got patched for some reason
Valve may or may not be working on Half-Life 3. (This guy might know, but he's no squealer.) What it is working on, it turns out, is Half-Life. Yesterday—20 years, 10 months, and 19 days after Half-Life was released—Valve released a new update for the game that fixes a surprising number of, admittedly, very minor problems.

To be honest, this feels like a perfect game for 2B. After all, 2B looks like a character straight out of an anime or manga. So yeah, this actually feels like a game were it makes sense to have a character like her.
You can download the three outfits for 2B from here. To install them, you’ll have to place the .pak file in the :/CodeVein/Content/Paks/~mods folder. Then, you’ll have to use Female default character, otherwise you’ll have two heads.

GTA Online gets a King of the Hill mode and a sweet new ride
Rockstar has added a new game mode to GTA Online called King of the Hill that will pit 16 players, divided into teams, against one another in a battle for dominance across seven different maps. Hatoful Boyfriend developers are working on a 1990s Hollywood murder mystery game
The developers of the bird dating simulator Hatoful Boyfriend have announced a new project called Murder By Numbers, a tale of mayhem and murder set in 1996 Hollywood. With the assistance of a reconnaissance robot she picked out of the garbage (which suggests to me that it's not an entirely true-to-life recreation of the '90s), TV detective Honor Mizrahi must turn her investigative talents to the real world when her boss is murdered—just minutes after he fired her from her hit show.

Untitled Goose Game needs this character creator
The mean-spirited protagonist of Untitled Goose Game can stick a jar on its beak or strut around with a fetching bow, but there are lamentably few opportunities to play dress-up with the evil bird. Fanatical has three new deals:

Denuvo has protected Borderlands 3 for one whole month, Anno 1800 for six months
While a lot of gamers hate the Denuvo anti-tamper tech, it appears that it was a wise decision – for 2K Games and Gearbox – to use it in Borderlands 3. Borderlands 3 came out almost a month ago, and even though it’s a game that a lot of pirates would want to get their hands on, it has not been cracked.
Borderlands 3 came out exclusively on Epic Games Store on September 13th. My guess is that this new looter shooter is using the latest version of Denuvo. I’m not certain, but this is the most likely scenario. As such CODE VEIN, which has already been cracked, is most likely using an older version of this anti-tamper tech.
What’s also interesting here is that Anno 1800 is still safe. This strategy game came out almost six months ago, and none of the gaming cracking scene groups was able to crack it. It’s been a while since we last saw a game that hasn’t been cracked for over five months.
Another game that the scene groups have not been able to crack is Mortal Kombat 11. Mortal Kombat 11 came out on April 23rd, meaning that it is getting close to Anno 1800’s record. It’s also interesting noting that other fighting games – that obviously do not use Denuvo – have already been cracked, so there is a “pirate” demand for this type of games.

Jurassic Life, Jurassic Park mod for Half Life 2, is back from the dead, gets new screenshots
The Jurassic Life team has announced that after almost four years of hiatus, the project is back from the dead. Jurassic Life is basically a total conversion mod for Half Life 2, and you can find below some new screenshots from it. In Jurassic Life, you play game warden Robert Muldoon who was hired to keep order in the quite extraordinary Jurassic Park, located on Isla Nublar. Do note that its story is not strictly based on the movies or novels. Instead, this is a new tale that takes inspiration from the world of Jurassic Park. However, the team describes it as a side story which includes several scenes from the original film. As such, the story plays out at the timeframe seen in the first movie.

Xixo Games Studio is a two-team Spanish studio that is currently working on Enchanted Portals. Monday news, part two:

A new trailer for The 13th Doll showcases some very '90s FMV acting
The 13th Doll is a fan-made followup to the 1993 FMV adventure classic The 7th Guest, which rang up more than $60,000 in a successful 2015 Kickstarter campaign. That's not much of a budget for a videogame production, but you don't have to pay volunteers, who have helped get this fan project close to the finish line. After missing a release planned for Halloween 2018, Attic Door Productions said today that it will come out, for sure this time, on Halloween 2019.
>> Despite being a fan.made game, I'm posting it here and not in the mods like the Stalker game because this game will have to be purchased ($30), and not available for free.

Dota 2's latest update makes more MMR changes and cuts off chat for toxic players
It appears that there were some issues with the Dota 2 matchmaking rating changes that were rolled out in September. Valve said in its latest Dota 2 blog post that "some players, especially at the high end, have experienced a significant drop in matchmaking quality as a result of our recent iterations," and so it's made further changes to the system in the most recent game update.

Gearbox finally shows FL4K some love in latest Borderlands 3 patch
Gearbox has finally stopped nerfing Borderlands 3's robot vault hunter FL4K. After two nerfs in as many weeks, the developer has decided it went too far, and is partially rolling back a recent change to FL4K's Leave No Trace skill, which has a chance to return ammo to the player's magazine when they land a critical hit.

Daybreak Games makes multiple layoffs, including on Planetside Arena team
Daybreak Games has laid off multiple employees, including some that were working on battle royale Planetside Arena, which went into Early Access last month. The scale of the layoffs at the H1Z1 and Planetside 2 studio is not yet clear, but one developer who lost his job said multiple teams had been hit, while Planetside Arena's lead designer said his team had "lost some really good people today".
>> Never good news.

Multiplayer-focused Cyberpunk game a possibility, says senior CD Projekt Red developer
We know that Cyberpunk 2077 will eventually have multiplayer—but if CD Projekt Red's Krakow office head John Mamais gets his way, it won't be the last time players jump into the Cyberpunk universe with their friends. He told GameSpot that the possibility of a multiplayer-focused game in the universe remains open, adding that he's hoping to make more Cyberpunk games in future.

Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian working with Rockstar on 'upcoming titles'
Crackdown 2 developer Ruffian Games, which was one of the studios helping 343 Industries bring Halo: Reach into The Master Chief Collection, is working on upcoming games for Rockstar, and it's hiring developers with experience building multiplayer games.

Moons of Madness, the horror game set in Funcom's The Secret World universe, is out this month
Moons of Madness is part Cthulhu-on-Mars, part exploration of mental illness, and it's coming to PC on October 22. The release date was unveiled with a new trailer, above, featuring flickering lights and tentacled horrors.

Dead Space was built from the bones of Tiger Woods PGA Tour
Dead Space's Isaac Clarke has popped up in some unlikely places over the years: when he's not been cutting up monsters on mining ships you might've spotted him on the links in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, running the floor in NBA Jam: On Fire Edition or grinding rails in Skate 3. These crossovers, usually in the form of character outfits, have always felt bizarre, but in Tiger Woods' case it turns out Clarke had a good reason to feel right at home with a driver in hand.

Terra Invicta, the strategy game from XCOM's Long War modders, gets first trailer
The modders behind brilliant XCOM mods Long War and Long War 2—which Tom called "a must-play reinvention of XCOM 2"—formed their own studio in 2015 and announced their first full game: Terra Invicta. Now, four years later, they've released the game's first trailer, which runs you through what to expect from the grand strategy space game.

Fortnite's entire map sucked into black hole, game down as mysterious stream begins
Fortnite's latest in-game event ended with whatever the opposite of a big bang is, erasing the map from existence. As the countdown to 'The End', as teased by Epic earlier this month, finished up, the new rocket built over the course of the season launched, flew through a rift, and seemingly duplicated itself dozens of times over via some wacky time loop logic.

Apex Legends' Charge Rifle will be nerfed soon
If you've dropped into Apex Legends since the start of Season 3 then you'll know the new Charge Rifle energy sniper is pretty damned good. When you squeeze the trigger it fires a hitscan laser, and a second or so later it fires a single powerful shot: you can deal up to 90 damage in total. Many players have complained that it's OP, and Respawn appears to agree: the game's future update Trello board shows that a "Charge Rifle weapon balance" is in the works.

Apex Legends' training mode is getting some love soon
Apex Legends' training mode doesn't currently give you a whole lot to work with, offering only a basic tutorial and a place to quickly test what you've learned before jumping into your first match. "By popular request," however, the training ground is getting an update, turning it into a place that's worth a revisit.

Microsoft Flight Simulator could get VR support because of fan feedback
Microsoft Flight Simulator looks like the kind of game you'd want to stick a VR headset on for, even if you're not that infatuated with virtual reality, but VR apparently wasn't part of the plan until the team saw the reaction to the E3 trailer.
>> Well, flicht and racing sims seem to be the perfect games to have VR, so it would be great if they added it.

Match-3 meets the RTS in this free browser game
Free browser game little BEETLE bottle BATTLE (punctuation the developer's own) takes the classic match-3 concept and turns it on its head. While one of your goals is still to match three of various things together, you might want to stop and think before you shove those castle tiles, or those forest ones together, as every action will have a knock-on effect—and I'm not just talking about the other tiles.

Please excuse my bad English.
