From the articles I found, Samsung produces its 96-layer NAND waffers in China, which is their best one.

Where ? So far there's only one Samsung plant in China that specifically produces 3D-NAND flash memory modules and it's 32-layer last I checked ...

Samsung has zero intention to bring production of their latest 3D-NAND technology to China and practically all of it's highest-end solutions are manufactured either in South Korea or the US ...

It's pretty clear that Samsung do not trust their Chinese employees otherwise a massive state backed firm like Tsinghua Unigroup wouldn't have to pour in $30B+ to develop their own domestic technology ... (they also snagged Charles Kao too to lead their new DRAM unit)

How come when you find something on the net, it's so difficult to find it again the next day?

I'll try to find it again later.

Please excuse my bad English.

The new Steam library is coming September 17, and smart collections are its best new feature
At long last, Steam looks shiny. It looks new. It looks like... Netflix. Or the Apple TV. Or Amazon Prime Video. Steam has never been a pretty computer program, but a long-awaited overhaul, coming September 17, brings a more modern look to the Steam library, reorganizing game pages with larger artwork, a prominent space for updates, and a new homepage that highlights what your friends are playing and games you may not even remember you own. It's absolutely prettier, though its facelift does make it look an awful lot like other contemporary digital libraries.

Thursday news, part two:

Fortnite is teasing an It crossover
Let's say you were a pan-dimensional evil clown who enjoys eating kids. Where would you hide out now? The sewer? Nah, this isn't 1960, the year Stephen King's novel It was originally set. Today, any child-eating demon worth its salt would definitely set up shop in Fortnite, one of the most popular games in the world.

Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is out now, sort of
EA and Popcap are trying something new with the release of multiplayer shooter Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. First of all, I should say that Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville exists, which you may not have known because the only formal announcement until now was a 24-hour countdown clock that ended today. And now that it's today, Battle for Neighborville has both been announced and released—partially, at least.

The Camarilla are coming back in Bloodlines 2
In vampire society, the Camarilla represents institutional power: It's sophisticated, high-priced, and likes to keep things quiet, low-key, and behind closed doors. Boardroom types, in other words, which makes the faction a natural fit for the big-money, high-tech corporate setting of Seattle in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.

Magic: The Gathering Arena officially launches later this month
Wizards of the Coast announced today that Magic: The Gathering Arena will leave open beta testing and go into full release on September 26. The launch will coincide with the kickoff of the new Throne of Eldraine card set, where "Grimms’ Fairy Tales and Arthurian legends collide for high fantasy and incredible adventure."

The Outer Worlds has a 'yes-man' and her name is ADA
At PAX West last weekend, three writers from Obsidian Entertainment sat down on a panel to discuss how they brought the characters of the upcoming The Outer Worlds to life. Senior narrative designer Carrie Patel talked about the companion she wrote for, Ellie, and explained how developing a new series requires a lot of inter-team communication and defining touchstones like Firefly or Deadwood. Narrative designer Kate Dollarhyde discussed her own companion, Parvati, the supergenius engineer. The audience Q&A, for its part, made sure not to neglect the obligatory shoutout to Fallout: New Vegas, developed by Obsidian almost a decade ago.

GhostWire: Tokyo dev who gave us the feel-good moment of E3 has left the project
GhostWire: Tokyo creative director Ikumi Nakamura made a big and very positive splash when she presented the announcement trailer during Bethesda's press conference at E3 2019. "Everything about her presentation was perfect, from her groan-inducing jokes and nervous comments about the number of people in the audience to the dance she did before revealing the GhostWire: Tokyo trailer," we said in our description of her wonderfully wholesome moment on the stage. "It was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise mundane conference."

Divinity: Original Sin 2 for Nintendo Switch supports cross-save with the Steam version
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is the best game you can play on PC right now, according to our recent top 100 (and according to me too, for what it's worth). It released on Nintendo Switch today, which wouldn't be of much interest, were it not for the fact that it supports cross-saves with the Steam version of the game. This is excellent news for any Switch owners who fancy the idea of continuing their Steam save in portable mode.

Doom 64 is coming to the Switch, Bethesda hints at other versions coming
Yesterday, Doom 64—originally released in 1997 for the Nintendo 64—was rated by the Australian Classification Board. Today, it was announced! For the Nintendo Switch. Sorry.
"But wait," I hear you saying. "This is PC Gamer, not Nintendo Gamer. Why are you reporting on this?" The answer is, basically, that hope dies hard, and Bethesda is very specifically not saying that this Doom 64 will be exclusive to Nintendo, like the last one was. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's suggesting exactly the opposite.

Edmund McMillen's The Legend of Bum-bo has a firm release date
The Legend of Bum-bo is the latest game from Edmund McMillen of The Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy and The End is Nigh fame. It's a "deckbuilding roguelike" spliced with a dungeon crawler, and it's now got a firm release date: it'll hit Steam on November 12.

Gears 5's post-launch Operations turn it into a live-service game
The latest video from the official Gears of War YouTube channel explains how Operations will work in Gears 5. These post-launch drops of new stuff will roll out every three months, containing new modes, maps for versus and horde mode, tiles for the map builder, characters, and customization items. Escape mode will get new hives and challenges "nearly every week" as well.

Yakuza 7 devs explain the new combat system, say it could be twice the length of previous games
Think of Yakuza and the first thing that probably springs to mind is the series’ chunky, Virtua Fighter-esque fights. Previous series lead Kiryu has been dishing out realtime, bone-breaking fisticuffs for over a decade, but—as revealed last week—the forthcoming Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon will implement turn-based battles for the first time in the franchise’s history.

Friday news, part two:

Gears 5 welcomes all players with 19 LGBT Pride flags
The Coalition clearly wants to make all Gears players feel welcome, as it’s shown with the inclusion of a number of LGBT in-game flags. Something highlighted by Twitter user ‘akki!’

Roguelike farming sim Atomicrops enters early access on the Epic Store
The good news is you've inherited a farm. The bad news is a moment later a bunch of nukes fall from the sky. But no farmer worth their salt ever let something as paltry as a nuclear holocaust stop them from growing crops. And neither will you.

Monster Prom 2: Monster Camp made me drink my pee to survive
As with any good camping adventure in recent years, Monster Camp makes sure to throw in a long gag about drinking your own pee. This is just one of the strange conversations between datable high school monsters that I watched in the demo last week at PAX West. A very normal dating scenario.

2v2 RTS A Year of Rain is now taking signups for a closed beta
Daedalic Entertainment is best known for point-and-click adventures, but earlier this year it announced that it's going to take a shot at the RTS genre with A Year of Rain. The game will feature a fairly standard-sounding setup of three distinct factions building bases, recruiting armies, and fighting over resources, but puts a focus on hero units and team-based competitive play with a 2v2 skirmish mode, leaderboards, replays, and a league system all planned for launch.

Valve's 'unfair' comment about Metro Exodus on the Epic Store wasn't meant to incite gamers
The process of making Metro Exodus an Epic Games Store exclusive did not go especially smoothly. The big issue is that the game had been up for pre-purchase on Steam for quite awhile up to that point, and the move to the Epic Games Store seemed to leave those who had put their money down on it—and those who wanted to—out in the cold.

EVE Online to implement grief counselling when new players lose their first ship
EVE Online is a notoriously tough game to get into. It's so tough, in fact, that of the 600,000 new players that tried to play it last year, only around 10 percent of them played it for longer than seven days.

You can finally customize staircases in The Sims 4
Maxis announced in a live stream on Tuesday that The Sims 4 is getting a build feature that fans have wanted for over a decade—and that feature is live as of today.
Configurable stairs, people. They're finally here. Going into the build mode, you can place stairs like usual, but there is now a tool that lets you swing the stairs on a center axis to split them in the middle and have them go in different directions. L-shaped, U-shaped, T-shaped, switchback—it's all there.

Hi-Rez announces a new cross-platform shooter called Rogue Company
Paladins and Realm Royale developer Hi-Rez Studios announced a new team-based PvP shooter today called Rogue Company that's headed to the Epic Games Store in 2020. Developed by First Watch Games, the shooter will feature a roster of elite mercenaries, equipped with an array of weapons and gadgets, dropping in and doing battle in multiple game modes on "iconic" locations.

Cloudpunk trailer teases a taxi driver's first night in the big city
I got my first look at Cloudpunk late last year and I loved it. I couldn't say what it was about, really, beyond a vague description about a driver for a grey-market courier company in a towering city of the future. But the mix of Blade Runner and pixel art looked, and sounded, so good that I was immediately transfixed.

Call of Duty studio Sledgehammer Games has opened an Australian branch
Sledgehammer Games is opening a studio in Australia, according to the company's "first official hire". Melbourne developer Alayna Cole announced the news on Twitter yesterday, confirming she will start work this coming Monday in her role as a producer.

The next free DLC for Total War: Warhammer 2 adds a very big lizardman

Now the studio has announced that the forthcoming The Hunter & The Beast DLC will be accompanied by the free addition of a new Legendary Lord for the Lizardman faction. Gor-Rok, whose name is heavy metal AF even by Warhammer standards, is also known as the Great White Lizard—an albino saurus of unusual size who happens to be an unstoppable combat machine.

Celeste will finally get its Chapter 9 DLC next week
Celeste will get its long-awaited Chapter 9 DLC next week—on September 9, to be precise. The announcement was made in a new blogpost by Matt Thorson, where they also announced that their studio Matt Makes Games is rebranding as Extremely OK Games LTD.

You can play as Grey Hulk in Marvel's Avengers
Square Enix have begun showing off the alternate costumes that will be available in Marvel's Avengers, and while Captain America's is a boring take on his Secret Empire outfit, the Hulk's is much cooler. It's Joe Fixit, aka the Grey Hulk.

Disintegration, like Halo, is a shooter that was almost an RTS
Marcus Lehto, president and game director of V1 Interactive, was recently at Gamescom to talk about V1's new game Disintegration. It's a first-person shooter that sits you on a gravcycle—basically a lightweight sky tank—and gives you a squad of ground troops to control. There's some influence in there from the game Lehto is most famous for, Halo, but that's not all. "It has a lot to do with the first game I started making with Bungie before Halo," he told us, "and that was Myth: The Fallen Lords, which was an RTS game. It was straight RTS."

The latest Fortnite hotfix ditches one of the game's best shotguns
Always. Be. Patching. Apologies for butchering a quote from Alec Baldwin’s character in Glengarry Glen Ross, but Epic just can’t leave Fortnite alone. Even for a game that’s tweaked once per week, the last seven days have been a humdinger for the battle royale phenomenon, with three popular guns dropped.

Bungie encourages Destiny 2 players to migrate their accounts over to Steam
The tectonic plates of Destiny 2 will soon shift, as the loot-shooter moves away from Battle.net to Steam as part of its transition to a free-to-play title. Ahead of the momentous, Hive-blitzing event, Bungie is reminding players to migrate their accounts between platforms to ensure they don’t lose Silver.

Smart City Plan is the street-building game of your inner civil servant’s dreams
If you’re a virtual city architect it’s time to rejoice. Ambiera’s new SimCity-esque builder is seemingly obsessed with urban micromanagement. Smart City Plan is a town builder that aims to zero in on the small details of big city bureaucracy.

Square Enix showcases next-gen characters in Luminous Engine with Path Tracing
A few days ago, we shared a video showing real-time path tracing effects in the Luminous Engine. Luminous Productions has collaborated with NVIDIA in order to create that path tracing tech demo at CEDEC 2019. However, the team has also presented some truly amazing next-gen characters.
Below you can find some of the characters that Luminous Productions showcased during the CEDEC 2019 event. As we can see, these character models look absolutely incredible. The level of detail is truly amazing, and will give you an idea of what we can expect from next-gen games.

New build of the Nintendo Switch emulator, yuzu, adds Resolution Scaler, fixes visual glitches & more
The team behind the open source Nintendo Switch emulator, yuzu, has released a brand new version of it. According to the team, this new build for yuzu adds support for a Resolution Scaler. As its name suggests, this scaler increases native resolution through a set of rules enforced by a profile.
Going into more details, when this option is active, yuzu will continuously learn more about your specific games rendering methods. The emulator will also help create a resolution profile for the games you’ll be using it. Once the emulator generates a profile, the user can then select what multiplier they would like to increase their resolution by (2x, 4x, etc).

Someone is working on a native PC version of Super Mario 64, first tech video released
Super Mario 64 is a classic Nintendo 64 platformer featuring our favourite plumber. Naturally, and like with almost all first-part Mario games, this title never came out on the PC. However, that’s about to change as someone is currently working on a native PC version of this N64 game.
This project is still in a really early development stage and is based on the decompiled repo that came out recently on github. Moreover, this project will require the Nintendo 64 version for loading its assets. In other words, you’ll need a N64 ROM for Super Mario 64.

The Witcher 3 ESR Overhaul mod introduces new mechanics, latest version available for download
Modder ‘Gondzza’ has released a new version of his ESR Overhaul mod for The Witcher 3. ESR Overhaul introduces new mechanics, and changes overall balance to make the game more diverse and challenging. According to the modder, pretty much every aspect of the game is affected.
ESR Overhaul attemps to feature smooth gameplay in terms of difficulty. Thereby, the game keeps staying challenging with a slow increase of the player’s power relative to the world around.
>> Available from Nexus Mods.

This mod brings a cool Boss Rush Mode to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Modder ‘thefifthmatt’ has released pretty cool mod for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. As its title suggests, the Boss Rush mod adds a separate game mode in which you can fight bosses and minibosses in any order, and as many times as you want.
Players are able to select bosses and minibosses from the Dilapidated Temple Sculptor’s Idol. Moreover, players win money and XP from bosses and minibosses to get items and upgrades.
>> Get this mod from Nexus Mods.

You can now play as Negan from The Walking Dead or Frost from Mortal Kombat 11 in Resident Evil 2 Remake
Modders ‘Marcos RC’ and ‘Wiwilz’ released two new cool mods for Resident Evil 2 Remake. The first one lets you play as Negan from The Walking Dead, whereas the second allows you to play as Frostyfrom Mortal Kombat 11.
Now as you may have guessed, these are simple 3D character swappers. The Negan mod replaces Leon Sheriff’s costume whereas the Frosty mod replaces Claire’s Noir Costume. The Negan 3D model was obviously ripped from Tekken 7 and the Frosty model came from Mortal Kombat 11.
Unfortunately, the Negan mod does not feature any facial expressions/animations. As such, it feels a bit awkward when Leon is speaking. Okay okay, it’s already weird listening to Leon and watching him as Negan, but still.
On the other hand, the Frosty mod allows you to remove her mask and see Claire’s face. This obviously means that her face is animated, looking similar to her default face model.
>> These two mods are also available from Nexus Mods. Here's the Negan one, and here's the Frosty one.

Take-Two attempts to shut down the “Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster” project
Last month, we informed you about a Red Dead Redemption PC Remaster project that DamnedDev has been working on. This project was basically a mod for the PS3 and X360 versions of Red Dead Redemption. Basically, think of it as all the texture packs we’ve been getting for the Nintendo Wii/WiiU games. However, it appears that Take-Two is currently trying to shut this project down.
Take-Two got in touch with the modder and demanded him to stop his work. As such, the modder decided to completely halt the development of this project, and promised to provide a video update at a later date.
>> What a shocking surprise!

A fan has built a playable version of Sid Meier’s Civilization in Microsoft Excel
A Sid Meier’s Civilization fan has recreated the 1991 classic strategy game in Microsoft Excel. Titled s0lly’s [CELL]IVIZATION, creator s0lly made the game as part of the OneLoneCoder CODEJAM 2019, a game jam that runs until September 8. “The gamejam's theme is destruction,” s0lly says, “Which is apt for this game’s v1.0 iteration, given that the only way to win is to destroy the opposing team.”

Streets of SimCity is available to play on PC thanks to a fan patch

GreedFall Launch Trailer
Greedfall is releasing very soon and Spiders, the developers, released a new trailer. I am not a big fan of their games, I am being honest here. They are obsessed with third-person RPG games. Unfortunately the specific genre is ruled by games like The Witcher, The Elder Scrolls or even Dragon’s Dogma. CDPR has raised the bar so high, that no game since The Witcher 3 ever came close, in terms of quality. There is Divinity 2 of course but it is far from a third-person RPG.

Greedfall won’t be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech, no plans for DLC or mod support
Focus Home Interactive and Spiders have revealed some new tech details about the their upcoming action RPG, Greedfall. According to the teams, the game will not be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.

Watch Dogs: Legion’s art director talks about DedSec, London, Buildings, Progression and more
Watch Dogs: Legion is the third game of the series, made by Ubisoft. The main focus of these games have always been hacking. They are open-world games with driving and combat. The first game made a huge splash at E3, with the gameplay trailer featuring impressive visuals and gameplay. Unfortunately the final game did not represent the E3 gameplay trailer and many people reacted very strongly. That was probably the first blatant downgrade we ever saw, if I’m not mistaken and false advertising became a thing in gaming.

Shenmue 3 developers share more refund details: may take up from 20 business days to 3 months

Monday news, part two:

Rebel Cops is a turn-based tactical combat spinoff of This Is the Police
The This Is the Police series has followed kind of an unusual trajectory. The original, a strategy-sim about corrupt cops in a small town, had some interesting ideas but didn't really drill down into them; the sequel changed things up with the addition of an XCOM-styled tactical combat simulator. And now developer Weappy is going all-in on the combat side of that equation with a spinoff game called Rebel Cops.

Path of Exile's Blight update is out now
The latest of Path of Exile's free league updates is called Blight, and it adds tower defense to the action-RPG—a bit like the minigame in The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing. There's a long, long, probably 2000 words, deleted scene from the director's cut [the mega-update trilogy Smith posted last month] that's really looking at things like infusion in weapons and the relationships we want players to think of [with] their weapons in Destiny. We're not working on weapons 2.0 right now," Smith says around the 2:51:00 mark.
