https://www.pcgamer.com/best-of-steam-2019-highlights-top-sellers-most-played-and-early-access-success/
Steam has released its official Best of 2019 charts, showing the top sellers, new releases, VR games, and Early Access releases, along with the games sporting the most simultaneous players. Divided into Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories, the lists feature some surprises and a few real coups. Warframe, CS:GO and Dota 2, for example, are free games that nonetheless sit at the platinum tier of the Top Sellers category. Destiny 2 is also in the top sellers, despite only being on Steam for a third of the year.

According to the team, the Empire At War Remake: Galactic Civil War maintains the game’s design philosophy, while adding new units, better graphics, and deeper gameplay. In other words, this is a graphical overhaul for this classic Star Wars real-time strategy game.

As its description reads, The Witcher 3 Redux is an overhaul mod that makes enough major changes to be considered more than just gameplay enhancements. Its main purpose is to make the gameplay feel more realistic and lore friendly where preparation is key to success.
The Witcher 3 Redux also attempts to stretch out the leveling elements across both expansions. Moreover, it overhauls the skill system. As such, players will not be wasting skill points after level 30.

Mangaclub has released a pretty cool mod for Fallout 4. Whispering Hills turns Fallout 4 into a Silent Hill-like Nigthtmare. As such, players will be surrounded by Silent Hill’s iconic Thick Fog. Furthermore, there are now strange sounds and players will be occasionally being dragged into a otherworld where monsters await them.
According to its description, this mod overhauls all background sounds of the Commonwealth and replaces them with Spooky and creepy ones from Silent Hill. Moreover, it overhauls Combat Music and adds 10 Fog Weathers for you to constantly experience.

Brutal Doom goes co-op with Meatgrinder mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/brutal-doom-goes-co-op-with-meatgrinder-mod/
Last time we checked in on definitively superb, free Doom mod Brutal Doom, it was releasing a definitive Gold version that was pretty much expected to be the end of the thing.
But mod developer Sergeant_Mark_IV obviously couldn’t keep away from it, because they’ve released a cooperatively oriented mod called Meatgrinder Co-op. Meatgrinder Co-op is designed to be used with “slaughterfest” style maps, the kind of games that throw a small number of players against literally hundreds of enemies in vicious combat arenas. I’d suggest Slaughterfest 2012, though the Meatgrinder developer also suggests Speed of Doom as an alternative. You’ll also need a free Doom engine like GZDoom or Zandronum to run it.

Go spelunking for treasure in Goblet Cave
https://www.pcgamer.com/go-spelunking-for-treasure-in-goblet-cave/
Aha, another indie gem from Sokpop before 2019 closes out. It has everything a good videogame should have: Torches, caves, procedural generation, mournfully wailing children. There’s something good about sticking to the formula, I say. Anyway, Goblet Cave gives you simple tools like torches, ropes, platforms, and ladders, then sends you down into a cave to find the titular Goblet. Along the way you’ll rescue lost children, collect rubies, and curse viciously when you miss the toss of a grappling hook. It’s a little game, being only $3, and takes about a half hour to play. Each playthrough is procedural though, so you can do it a few times before you get a little tired of it.
Comedy JRPG Cthulhu Saves Christmas is out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/comedy-jrpg-cthulhu-saves-christmas-is-out-now/
It has been nearly 10 years since Cthulhu Saves the World, and now the dreamer of R’lyeh has awoken once again to save an important thing: Christmas. Cthulhu Saves Christmas is out now, featuring the tentacled old god as he loses his powers (again) and then—I think I’m following this right—teams up with Santa Claus’ granddaughter to stop Jack Frost before Christmas is cancelled forever. Along the way he apparently trashes Krampus, Mari Lwyd, and other “Christmas League of Evil villains” in turn-based combat. He also builds “R’lyehtionship” levels with his friends, which is definitely a jab at the Persona series and folks, I am here for it.
