Most likely Sony, since they're a Japanese company.

Lol, what? As others have said it will be a bidding war. Google, Apple and Microsoft would surely be the front runners.

Lol, what? They're wrong. Nvidia Shield will be the front runner..

Old title was "If Nintendo exits gaming, where will Pokemon go?" But remembering how much negative Nintendo news and threads there were during these past couple of days, I think changing the title to this new one will make the mood/atmosphere/whatever of this thread lighter.

If Nintendo exits gaming, where will Pokemon go?

Can't find any articles about this on google at the moment, but I've remembered I read some articles where Miyamotto and Iwata said NIntendo will quit the gaming business if their home and handheld console fails. This means, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, F-Zero, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and many other Nintendo IPs will leave gaming. However, Pokemon isn't directly part of the Nintendo company. The games are actually run by GameFreak which is owned by the Pokemon Company. GameFreak also has a history of producing software outside of Nintendo consoles, including two games for the Sega Megadrive, one game for the Playstation 1, and several Pokedex apps for the iPhone. So the question is, if Nintendo goes under, where will GameFreak go or will it go under as well? Or where would you want GameFreak to go?

Sega's new console....since we're in fantasy land anyway in thinking that Nintendo is going away.

wii U

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

What wouldn't Pokemon sell on? Well, that would have been the question in the late 90's but still, Pokemon's legs are just as long as Mario's. Who knows? Mario knows his nose is rosier than a rose and smells like Ambrose... yeah. There's my poetry for the day.(Ljink, what an idiot you are... oh yeah, I'm drunk:D)

Pokémon will continue to exist as it is not operated by Nintendo. Pokémon is managed by the Pokemon Company which in turn Nintendo holds a 33% stake in. Nintendo has no say in the operations of the Pokemon Company.

You're mistaken. Nintendo only directly holds a 33% stake. But Creatures, Inc holds a 33% stake, and Nintendo owns Creatures, Inc. Which means that indirectly, Nintendo holds a 67% stake in TPC. Gamefreak has the other 33%.

iOS.

I'm not joking.

I would only hope.

Plus, there are currently two threads with "If Nintendo exits gaming" topics... why?

Whats with these threads? Now were already looking at what would happen if Nintendo went under? Cmon... this is ridiculous. Namco, Capcom, SEGA and Sony would go under before Nintendo did.

Nintendo has 8 billion in the bank. They can stick around for many more years.

But if i must indulge then here: Pokemon games should go on the Vita! :P

Because there's threads along those lines on NeoGAF, and some members here seem to like making threads for threads on NeoGAF, typically with the title copied word-for-word. I'm not a member of NeoGAF, but I tend to look at it because they often catch news quite early.

smart phones. and yes im being serious
