Soon kids will just all be forced to come in hazmat suits so they do not get dust on each other. Maybe if parents did not shove 99.9 percent bacteria free gel and soap down their kids throats we would all not be so sick all the time. It is not just about Allergies you see. Everyone is constantly sick these days. Sure, it is all just minor illnesses, but people/kids are still sick. Don't force my kids to have weak immune systems just because other parents don't want to keep their kids home from school or want everyone to bathe in Antibacterial gel.

I see you point out that "it's not just allergies," but I want to clarify that allergies are not contracted. You cannot build immunity to food allergies, and they are not caused by sheltered lifestyles. As far as I can tell, allergies seem to be a primarily genetic condition, but I'm no doctor.

I have a couple of minor food allergies, but they're easy to avoid and I certainly don't get a reaction just from touching things.

Anyway I think it's a bit harsh to ask everyone with peanut allergies to be homeschooled, rather than ask schools not to serve peanuts at lunch. That seems like the more sensible option to me.
