Thanks to video games I improved (and still learning) my English. And of recent memory thanks to Bioshock Infinite I learned about 2 not really well known historical events (Wounded Knee and the Boxer Rebellion), I love when video games teach me something like that.

I learnt the majority of my vocabulary from video games. When I was in Year 2 at school, I used 'miscellaneous' in something I wrote and used it grammatically correctly and spelt correctly and they put me in a 4th grade English class because of it. Same with Math and History, Sims, Simcity, Pokemon and a bunch of other games taught me things I wouldn't have learnt until 7th or 8th grade that early. I love video games for a reason, that being that whilst being fun, I learn something new a lot of the time, no matter how minor it is.



Someone left a stool blocking the doorway. I learned that I can't jump over or walk around it to get pass it.
