Am I the only one that finds this constant penis waving contest between smartphone makers regarding technical specifications to be a bit ridiculous, and out of touch with what smartphone users really want? Wouldn't anyone besides me rather smartphone makers begin focusing on things like battery life, weight, camera quality, etc? I personally would rather a smartphone with a fast dual or quad core processor packed with the Galaxy S4's 2600 mAh battery so that it lasts for 3-4 days on a single charge than a fucking 8 core processor that will have virtually no impact on the user experience aside from chewing up battery faster than is necessary.

I can't be the only one that feels this way. What are your thoughts on this issue? Would you prefer more improvements on features that make smartphones easier and more convenient to use, or do you want a phone with a 32 core processor that you can use to heat your home in the winter and lasts for 4 hours on a full charge?

... the octacore Exynos is a 4+4 core - only 4 cores are on at a time

there are 4 low powered cores in it which can smoothly run the easy tasks and the smartphone switches to the 4 high powered cores once you start some really taxing apps

so, the octacore helps increase battery life

it bugs the hell out of me, because all they focus on is bigger screens, bigger res and faster processor. my ideal phone would be
quad core CPU (more than enough)
hardware keyboard! ughh i hate that they never put this to keep the phones "thin"
dust/water resistance
4 inch screen maximum, with maximum 720p res
5 or 8 mg pixel camera with good quality
a big ass battery, heck i prefer my phones thicker ( i like em thick )

i dont care much for other stuff. i just want my phone to run smoothly and be heavy duty, since i tend to drop my phone alot

I thought I'd be like that, I chose Android because of specs and features etc.

Then it sucked to use so I sent it back, got a two year old iPhone 4, and haven't ever felt like upgrading. It just works and does everything I need a phone to do. I follow smartphone tech for fun but I don't care about owning it as long as mine works.

I just persuaded my dad to stop looking at iPhone 5s and Galaxy S4s and get the same iPhone 4 because why pay double for features you won't be using and a form factor that's too large to be comfortable?
