Gran Turismo In UK these games sells more than GoW games. What is the point? |
According to VGC:
Killzone 3 sold 640k in its first year in Europe
Killzone 2 sold 857k in its first year in Europe
LittleBigPlanet sold 714k in its first year in Europe
LittleBigPlanet 2 sold 682k in its first year in Europe
God of War 3 sold 944k in its first year in Europe.
So, no. God of War is bigger in UK than those two franchises in Europe. And I doubt the Playstation gamers in UK are radically different than the Playstation gamers in the rest of Europe.
God of War is one of the most popular franchises Sony has got in the UK. It is at No. 3 behind GT and Uncharted.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Gears of war 3 sold 332k in its 1st week in the UK, so that means Judgement sold about 83k... which is nearly 3x as much as God of war ascension sold in the UK in its 1st week (29k). Awesome!

WOW Are you using the Europe data in VGC to hold your point about UK??? UK = Europe confirmed.
GoW sell more in others EU countries than UK... UK is a weak country for GoW.

I will give you a example... I can't wait one more day to play BioShock Infinite... I will pay any price for that. |
I agree, can't wait to play Bioshock, got a key for 15€, preloading is finished, I'm ready. PC gaming is really expensive.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
Tomb Raider is legging better than I expected. Word of mouth seems pretty good for it.
pezus said: Let's put it this way: The gap between GoW 3 and Gears 3: ~270k Gap shrunk by 217k Which franchise declined more? Isn't this "game over game" and "gen over gen" all that matters when talking about sales? (See: Last week's thread and PS3 sales discussions) This is for you who are touting Gears 3:1 GoW as something unexpected or amazing. |
Can't really decline when it had no fan base to begin with....

According to VGC UK is the strongest country in Europe for God of War: A...
France: 22k
Germany: 24k
UK: 30k
Do you have any data to back up your claims like I do?
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

So because of one game the entire franchise is bigger? Makes sense, especially since Ascension is the second biggest GoW launch in the UK... |
Which God of War game on PS3 should have been used for comparison then?
My point still stands: Not one of the 4 games of the 2 franchises you mentioned was able to outsell the 1 God of War game. Therefore God of War is a bigger franchise for Sony in the UK. And therefore Gears of War: J outsold the no. 3 Sony-franchise 3:1 in the UK.
Just stop it now. You can't spin this.

man, we get it, you get your bragging rights okay? MS's 2nd biggest exclusive series outsold Sony's 3rd biggest exclusive series in the UK where the hardware difference is 3 million...
