Forums - Microsoft Discussion - A question to Xbox Live users

Seems I may have worded my thoughts incorrectly in my previous thread and it got locked. I will try to express myself better.

To those who say that Xbox Live is worth it's price but haggle prices to get it., would you rather not pay anything for access to Xbox Live?

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Still kind of an attack there but Ill answer.  Would I prefer it to be free, yes.  Will I buy it, yes.

Edit out the underlined part. People haggle PSV/PS3/WiiU deals all the time.

I don't think you get the point at all, so I give you an example:
If you plan to buy a car that is worth $10k, wouldn't you buy it for $8k as well?

You can think XBL is worth the price and still look for bargains, deals, sales on the web. A lot of people do this with every product or service available.
If you are a PS+ Member, wouldn't you pick it up for $30 a year, when you see a deal?

I want XBL to stay at $60 per year, because it is worth it and I can afford it. I am not that bargain shopper, because I don't have the time to do this due to my job. But I was looking for deals back in school or university.

I always pay full price, because it just gets automatically renewed and MS just charges my account. It is the easiest way for me.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

I would say that people look for or wait for better deals on anything, but are you saying that people haggle directly with Microsoft to get a better price on XBL?

I don't think the consumer has enough individual clout to negotiate directly with Microsoft over how much they want to pay for Gold.

If you could pay less for the exact same thing, who wouldn't?

I don't mind the price at all. But in all honesty, yes I would rather have the service for free. If it didn't affect the quality of xbox live.

Well of course I would prefer it free but wouldn't that mean lowering the quality of the service? If yes, then I think that paying is fine.

Xbox gold live could be cheaper, though.

I prefer it stays paid. It means getting banned from the service will cost you money. Its a barrier to entry for people who will just get banned. Not to mention it is still the only service that lets me watch my media on my tv through voice commands.

The problem here I think, is you believe there is a alternative solution that is free that offers the same service as XBL. To many people there is no equivalent service, there is another service that is free but having used both services I can assure you in my experience, the free service is inferior in speed and reliability and it's missing a feature I really like on XBL.

Thus to answer your query, XBL is the best service to suit my gaming needs at present. Would I like to pay less, absolutely hence why I buy up front and not monthly. Would I prefer the service to cost nothing, absolutely BUT not at the expense of speed and reliability which is effectively what would happen.

Now just to clarify, I realize some people will have a different experience to me which is why you have the choice as a consumer to go your own way. It's also worth noting your XBL experience will be very different depending on the country you're living in too, which might explain why the Xbox brand isn't as strong in some regions.

Paying for it doesn't make it good, it's all in the head because you are spending your hard earned cash on it so you think it's good but everybody has a right to choose what is best for him.
For me NOOOOOOOOOO, Thank you.

Does that mean...you actually prefer it not to be free?!
