Where should one start off in zelda? I've tried TP in the past but I didn't like it too much, so I never got very far.

I started with WWHD and that was honestly the perfect entry to the franchise for me. But it might not be for people who don't like the sailing. In that case, I would recommend either OoT or ALBW. Both are great games to start off with.

I'd suggest starting with A Link to the Past. That game arranged all of the themes, items, and mechanics of The Legend of Zelda into a system that's endured for over 20 years. It's very much the quintessential Zelda game.

Whichever you choose, I hope you enjoy it!

More useful Song of Double Time

Has this actually been added to MM3D, or just something people might want to see?

I thought I heared the Song of Double Time now lets you choose the exact hour you want to skip to, instead of moving you to either the 'Night of...' Or 'Dawn of...'.

Just an announcement for you guys:

This week I'll be starting a Zelda tournament thread. 16 Zelda games, single elimination, user voting.

More details to come!

The tournament is up!

IGN review of MM3D - 8.7

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/02/04/the-legend-of-zelda-majoras-mask-3d-review

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D proves that interesting game design and strong world-building never get old. Even 15 years later, it still delivers charming characters, tense resource management, and a world rife with personality. Despite some cumbersome menus and a single drag of a dungeon, Majora’s Mask is a great adventure that (repeatedly) stands the test of time.

Rare 90s Zelda Comic Getting Official Re-release

If you were a Nintendo Power subscriber back in 1992, you probably remember a series of The Legend of Zelda comics drawn by manga artist Shotaro Ishinomori that retold the story of A Link to the Past. But outside of a standalone book for subscribers, the series has been out of print for over two decades.

Luckily, Viz comics is gearing up for a re-issue. The original appeared as a serial through issues of the Nintendo Power magazine before being offered as a standalone paperback. On Ebay, those original printings sell for $40 to $50.

Viz showed off the new cover for the book and a release date of 5/5/15 through a post on Twitter.

With all the exciting Hyrule news, it almost feels like the year of Zelda. We're also getting a 3D remaster of Majora's Mask next month on 3DS and the long-awaited Wii U entry in the series is coming sometime this year. The only thing we have left to hear about is making the Wii entries in the Zelda series, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, available on the Wii U e-shop channel. Though given the recent press of returning classic games, that seems like a very real possibility.

Netflix Developing Live-Action Zelda Series

“The Legend of Zelda,” one of the most popular videogame series of all time, is in the works as a television show at Netflix.

The video streaming service is in the early stages of developing a live action series based on “Zelda,” about an ordinary boy named Link who must rescue a princess named Zelda and save a fantasy world called Hyrule, said a person familiar with the matter. As it seeks writers to work on the show, Netflix is describing it as “Game of Thrones” for a family audience, this person said.

The “Zelda” games have traditionally included swords and sorcery, like “Game of Thrones” or “Lord of the Rings,” but typically with a more light-hearted, kid-friendly tone.

Netflix is said to be working closely with Nintendo, the Japanese game developer that has made about 20 “The Legend of Zelda” games since the original, which was released in the U.S. in 1987.

Nintendo is very protective of its intellectual property and has allowed few adaptations over the years. An animated “Legend of Zelda” series ran for just one season in 1989. A 1993 movie based on Nintendo’s “Super Mario Bros.” was an infamous bomb.

As it is still seeking a writer to work on the series, Netflix has a long road to travel before a “Legend of Zelda” series actually becomes a reality. It’s also possible that Netflix or Nintendo will kill the project before it gets off the ground.

A Netflix spokeswoman declined to comment. A Nintendo spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
