Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which will have a price drop first? WiiU or Vita

The Vita already got a price cut in Europe though lol :P

I don't think the Wii U needs a price cut per se but more compelling software post holiday would not hurt it! In Japan Wii U seems locked with Dragon Quest X release for Wii U - over 300k software. In Europe and NA there does not seem to be that ''killer'' app for the first part of 2013 - that's what scares me the most :(

Vita. Wii-U price cut will come around the holiday season next year. Can see Vita price cut happening some time around April, depending if Killzone or Tearaway are ready by that time.

Vita since the Wii U is having a really good launch relative to ps360's.

Vita is already been discounted to 199 and 240 in my country

Vita will most likely get one first.

Vita first

Too soon to tell for Wiiu. Next 6-12months of sales should tell when one is needed. As of now though it's doing horrible in EU

Vita. Nintendo was adamant about finding a price point that would last them at least two years.

hahahahahahahahaha... Vita.

I fully expect Nintendo to release either Mario Kart, the next 3D Mario, or both in 2013, ensuring WiiU will be absolutely better than fine from then on. Also, Wii Fit will release sometime early in 2013 as well, right? Pikmin's due out pretty soon, too. Then we have Rayman, as well. And let's not forget WarioWare. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's underway for an early 2013 release too. Wonderful 101.

And the next Smash Bros. and Zelda are well in development, albeit quite a while off, yet. I'm pretty sure we'll be finding out about Retro's new project @ E3, which should me pretty exciting. Isn't Monolith also working on some big WiiU project? There are bound to be tons of unannounced WiiU games coming out in 2013 and beyond. I daresay it will do great!

Sony is used to the Vita's sales and seem to be focusing on profit recently, hence no cut to the Vita or PS3 in 2012. While I do think the Vita will get one sooner than the Wii U, I still think Nintendo is going to cut the price next year once they see how far it will drop after the holidays. EU doesn't seem too interested in it, while NA and Japan's sales are inflated by the increased holiday shopping. Though, even with the increased shopping it still dropped slightly WOW.
