Howdy! Need help in buying a 12gb PS3 (to upgrade a 1TB HHD, thanks to the epic PS+)

Been looking everywhere and can't find the answer I'm looking for is when you upgrade the HDD the 12GB becomes obsolete, but I was thinking of filling that 12gb with musics (since it will there permanent) first then upgrade to 1TB, will the music be there?

And should I upgrade a 5400rpm or 7200rpm HDD?

Any other recommendation/advice?

Thanks in advance, happy gaming!

(off to work, will be back in 9hrs)

5400 RPM drive is good enough since the PS3 is running on old ass SATA.

5400 is max 7200 rpm gets to hot

VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

What is rpm? And you should probably go for the higher one because it's probably the best one.

the 12GB is not a "hard drive", the hdd slot in the 12GB is empty and it's missing the HDD caddy - it costs ~10€ here

so I assume the 12GB is flash memory mounted directly on the mainboard

And should I upgrade a 5400rpm or 7200rpm HDD?

Don't change the Rpm! it's highly recommended that you keep it at the 5400.

well fuck me, i upgrade my ps3 with a 7200rpm haha.

i put a WD 320gb 7200rpm in my slim,i don't have a problem

7200 rpm doesn't really give you problems. It just gets hotter but the difference is widely considered minimal and negligible.

5400rpm is the one to have.

that 7200rpm are somehow bad for the PS3 is just a myth - the difference in heat output is miniscule
