The game doesn't even feel that powerful; why wouldn't the PS3 be able to handle it? Is it purely because of the large scale activity that's going on?

can't handle the environments and the lighting with that many things going on at once, I've seen battles where you see 50+ tanks from each side duking it out and air crafts all over the damn place on top of it with a shit ton of infantries everywhere blasting the fuck out of everything.

I hear some people talk about this, yet I've never seen it. The only "large scale" battles I'm apart of are thousands of people constantly spawning at a sunderer inside a base, running rambo for a few seconds, and then dying from enemy soldiers. Repeat for hours until one side stops giving a damn. The only other scenarios are sniping fests (which I'll admit are fun because I like sniping, and everyone seems to suck at it in PS2).

You cool kids need to let me know where all the fun action is happening.

You are talking about the spot where TR has constant control because the map design is broken on Indar, I usually fight closer to the Vanu areas(I'm Vanu) and avoid that place or goto Esamir/Amerish where the duke outs are more interesting for all 3 sides. I also get into disruption squads or platoons to ninja different parts, ride in Libs or drive my own Magrider/Sunderer etc everywhere to rape faces.

PS3 is not powerful enough for it, the game requires a lot of draw distance.
