I haven't read through the whole thread yet, but I'd like to submit my interest for this project! I got an education in copywriting (making and writing advertisement), and I know a bit about story telling as well. Now, I'm not native English speaker, but I know the difference between "their" and "they're" - which a lot of English speaker don't appear to do around here. Now, I don't mean to bash anyone - I merely wanna point out that I can find spelling errors even though I'm not native English.

So my skills is:
Story
Character development
Dialogue
Good at exchanging ideas with others; giving and taking

So if there's still room I'd like to submit my interest for consideration =)

However, it wouldn't be surprising if people leave the project down the line, so at this stage I think it's okay to get as many people involved as possible. Programmers would be great, but perhaps VGChartz is not the best place to go to find people who can use RPG Maker.

haha yeah, you're probably right! But I think that before we move a head and start doing any actually work we better get some programmers on board...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Its idea guys the game industry is lacking imo. and by trying to get rid of the idea makers would just make it more stale. i cant believe you wont see idea makers for the great minds they are..

The industry is full of ideas people, it's just that the cold hard market realities of game production quickly grind those ideas down into a grey paste. Ideas are a dime a dozzen I could give you 5 off the top of my head but they are worthless without execution which is what Soleron has been saying. Just look at how many ideas people are in this thread vs people that are willing to invest the thousands of hours needed to make those ideas reality.

Or in other words read this http://iainchalmers.org/2012-12-ideas-and-execution-the-enourmous-difference-in-effort-between-them-internet

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

I have used a lot of VX ace, it's a very easy and intuitive program with a surprising amount of depth, I sort of gave up on my personal project of making a game with it though, after understanding most of the programs features and making a few levels I sort of got bored. Also it requires no programming knowledge.

Frankly, I wouldn't bother on making any games in RPG Maker with Steam distribution in mind.
This is a daunting task for someone with nearly no experience in game development and it can be guaranteed that everyone in the team will lose interest after a month of two. Just because To the Moon made it, it doesn't mean anyone else can.

I'm in a similar situation in terms of game making. I played with RPG Maker long time ago (2000, 2k3 and XP) and I can map, make a story and do other fairly simple tasks, but I'm beginner if comes to drawing, I can't compose music or program in Ruby.

Frankly, if I were you, I'd wait till RPG Maker team will make an iOS/Android wrapper (as they said they're working on it) and make some short (few hours long), but playable games for iOS and/or Android and distribute them for free, and then move to more advanced projects. I'd forget about monetizing it (even for 0.99 of currency per copy) if you can't write some custom scripts by yourself (especially that have something to do with battle system), make custom sprites for playable characters or compose some music.
For me, using RTP resources won't make your project really serious, unless they'll just serve as placeholders.
