I was looking a bit at upcoming games (from here, here and other sources) and noticed this fact stated in the title.
Am I wrong? I really don't think so. I'm not counting phantom games like Bioshock Vita - that may or may not exist at this point, nothing about it was shown yet. Just boxed games announced.
Not only the quantity is low and the sales power is weak with Vita's 2013 line-up so far... but I can't find a single third party game that was not released before on another system or won't be released on another system at the same time (selling worse on Vita, no doubt). And it's not that Vita is sharing what the industry offers best also - the great majority of those games are tiny games. What that means is ZERO games are really taking advantage of Vita or will help the system sell better.
No, wait, there's a Senran Kagura exclusive Gaiden/Spin-off game, but that's all I can find. And to make it worse, it's one of those games that hardly will be localized (98.6% chance it won't). But that makes the magic number reach the astonishing quantity of ONE. Even after a somewhat dedicated TGS for it... First party games also is looking bad in both quantity and sales power.
All in all, good job, Sony! I think my prediction that Vita will have the first semester of next year even worse than this one is almost becoming a reality. Vita must have one hell of a holiday now - and them some more - to even stay up for the upcoming extra difficult rounds. And while in the west this Christma's miracle can still happen (most people still believe Vita will do great), in Japan it won't - guaranteed - and that's the worst part of the equation - as portables are Japan.
So, Vita fans and Vita doubters, what do you think of that? I personally think this is what a real problem is - the day that even a game like Army Corps From Hell is much needed.
OBS: Just like I told Tinkadrous, this is the "is" situation - the now. Final Fantasy XV and Monster Hunter 5th can be announced tomorrow exclusive for vita and prove everything in this thread wrong. But since we can't predict the future, we talk about how we see the present.
