That is my main problem with most religions; that they are effectively scaring and bullying you into following their ideals. You can draw paralells with dictatorial regimes: rewarding their followers for their faith whilst condeming those who disobey them.

I'm pretty sure if you follow the Golden Rule it wouldn't if you didn't follow the "right" god. You are a nice person who treats others they want to be treated. That's what Religion is almost centred around.

The thing is, that is your own assumption about the way it works, and a good number of religious zealots wouldn't agree with you.

However, you CAN ask non-believers to prove their alternative explanations, that being the Big Bang or evolution et cetera, which can be done. So I can show there is no need for a God, but I can't show there isn't such a being.

If you cannot prove something exists, then by default its proven that it doesnt exist. There is no need to further prove it. It makes no sense.

do you think the true Lord will mind if I mistakenly adopt the wrong religion? I mean...it would not be my fault. Is it possible to praise multiple Gods, just in case? Surely, the true God will understand my situation and know that its nothing personal.

Let this thread serve as a holding for the collective knowledge of VGChartz. Since no sole person can thoroughly study each and every religion, we can all combine our thoughts here and reach a unanimous agreement on the most likely God / religion.

Why are humans always trying to answer questions they can't possibly answer. Its like if you asked how many Planets rotate around the brightest star in the Sombrero galaxy.

Now I could use literature/scifi movies as facts and back up my opinion based on the "data" presented there.

Religions where created by humans, deeply flawed beings just because it happened in the past doesn't give it more credibility. Maybe someone got it right by pure luck. But probably not.

I don't see how that is a proof. proof leaves no room for doubt.
Otherwise, explaining all about God and his effects on me and my life would be a proof too.
