Wait, what? 'Ever needed'. I think thats the biggest problem, next thing people will start insulting the 'market' for not buying the PSV, apparently they are so blind that they can't see the magnificent product the PSV is.

And about the mobile vs. handhelds thingy, you just have to regulate your expectations before reading articles. If it doesn't works, well ignore them. Mainstream tech media will always prefer mobile as they will deliver more hardware updates than the ones Sony or Nintendo could deliver.

I don't see way see way people should care, the Vita launched at the wrong time in the wrong country (imo) it should have launched in ether the EU or US first it has a more western launch line-up and wouldn't have been released beside Monster Hunter, Mario 3D, Mario Kart 7 in a country where games don't sell well unless there really popular.

Personally, I am more interested in the Wii U launch. Although the 3DS vs Vita will be even more interesting when Vita is available WW and gets a price cut.

Both software and brand name sells consoles. Nintendo has both. Uncharted isn't a household name like Super Mario.
There are 3rd party titles like COD which are household names. These titles once release will definitely boost Vita sales. But this is an Activision title, so who knows how much effort they will put into it. Will they just port the DS version of COD or make a brand new experience?

Activision will most definitely just port the DS version of Call of Duty, because it's the only logical choice.

The reason I "shot it down" is because although Uncharted Golden Abyss is a great title, its not enough. Uncharted doesnt' exactly sell like hotcakes on PS3. I expect it to sell worse on Vita.

If Activision wants the COD games to sell and consumers to be happy, they'll port the console version instead.

It's going to take a really long time. Sony does not have the kind of selling power that Nintendo's 1st party titles have. Mario Kart, 3D Land, plus the 80% price cut is what really saved the 3DS.
