Forums - Gaming Discussion - Europe debt problems, bad for Sony, upcoming shit storm for other Japanese companies.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-29/sony-expects-huge-impact-on-earnings-on-euro.html

I think Sony gets 32% of their revenue from Europe and the Yen has gone in a straight line up from about 170Y to euro to now almost par at 100 in the span of 3 years (lower Yen number represents Yen strength).  Pretty drastic decline for the euro and I believe most if not all Japanese companies will be impacted.  I think sony is getting the news out the way now.

I bet they're rethinking that price cut now!

well they can always Lower there prices in Australia and get more sales,, but they and other mutlinatinal companies are too smart to understand that prices are too high and we are the one of the biggest adopters of tech, so yea.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

they don't need to, the ps3 in australia is what xbox is in amercia.. it's the excact opposite everyone plays cod on the ps3 and the ps3 is already $298 for a 160gb model which is cheap and the 4gb xbox is $298 also so the ps3 is cheaper in theory

nope, 360 and PS3 are on equal bounds, tho that is going to change since the PS3 is now cheaper and better value and the FiFa12 bundles are going to be the hottest thing this chirstmas for game consoles.

I don't, I like to think they have a little more foresight than that ...

It's clear Sony prefer marketshare over profits, so I don't think they are likely to regret their price cut choice.
